Iranian media are claiming that an 80-year-old man has broken the world record for the number of years he has let elapse since he last bathed himself.

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) and the Tehran Times reported that one Amou Haji of southern Iran has not bathed for 60 years.

The Tehran Times described Haji as a sort of recluse who took to the countryside after experiencing “emotional setbacks” as a young man.

According to the paper, Haji believes cleanliness brings on illness, and therefore avoids showers at all cost.

More details of Haji’s unorthodox lifestyle include eating rotten meat, especially porcupine meat, and drinking dirty water. TheBlaze cannot verify details of the story, but the Tehran Times explains:

His smoking pipe is filled with animal’s feces instead of tobacco and when he feels like smoking cigarettes he lights up a few of them at a time.

He wears a war helmet not to fight off the enemy in the battle field but to keep away from the bitterly cold winters.

Amou Haji has a couple of places to live in: one is a hole in the ground resembling a grave to keep him grounded and in touch with the reality of life and the other is an open brick shack built by those who felt sorry for him.

Why am I not surprised that such a record would be set by an islamist? And that other islamists would be proud of it to the point of publishing a story about it. Perhaps they can next claim a world record for biggest turd or something. I guess if this is all you have in your quest to demonstrate your supposed ethnic superiority then you just have to go with it.

Apes groom themselves. Dogs, cats. Rodents. I'd wager even cockroaches have some method of keeping their exterior minimally clean.

Yes, roaches groom themselves as well.  I discovered this when researching Diatomaceous Earth as a cockroach elimination substance.
