    Bye, Rush! If corporate media disappeared, and the people had their voice heard, here's what it might look like..

    One of the things I noticed as a reporter -- I was a journalist longer than I've been on this side of the table -- is that in all the marching in the streets in the '60s, the people who were shouting "Power to the People" didn't mean power to the people. They meant "power to me and I'll tell the people what to do." When you questioned them it was confirmed at every turn.

They really are out in the open with it now.  Notice that they seem to think Rush's preeminent status is somehow the result of corporate monopoly. Rush owns the radio airwaves because he is massively popular. The numerous attempts to create a Left wing version have failed miserably because nobody wants to listen to it. But no, in their perverted little world Rush is only on 600+ radio stations with millions of listeners because of corporate hegemony. The State dictating who can broadcast and what they can say is somehow empowering "the people".

They're not going to stop, you know. Today's little trial balloons become tomorrow's policy objectives. Other trial balloons we've seen floated recently include things like post-birth "abortion" (up to age 3), and converting pedophilia from a criminal perversion to just one of numerous forms of sexual preference (following the template established by the normalization of homosexuality). Nope, they're not going to stop until they are made to.

If you nationalize Fox News you end up with another NPR and PBS.  Stations that not many listen to,  cannot support itself requiring tax dollars.    No thanks

We have a nationalized network already.....why would we need another.

What kills me is they think FoxNews is some sort of hard-right-wing mouthpiece!  Ha!  What a joke!  Shows how clueless they really are.  But as usually their real target is not FoxNews, it is just a whipping boy, they want ALL dissent in the nation crushed.  They have a Hitlerian dream where all organs of power, control and information are in only their hands.

What should be happening in this nation is millions of people rising up and storming these state-run organs and ending their reign of error once and for all!

Curiosity induced me to go look at the original article. I'm glad that I did. Not only did I get a different impression of the article than the excerpt suggested but I was also gratified by the comments.

First, the piece looked like it was assembled by committee. One (or more) wrote the piece itself, someone else wrote the headline, and the art department supplied the images. Why does that matter? Because a well written piece has continuity. It flows. It has a premise, that premise is explored, it has a conclusion, and the artwork is complementary.

This piece wasn't what I expected. Although it had "bash Fox" as an element, it wasn't a rant against those dastardly right-wing radicals - it was an unabashed dream piece for the joys of socialism. My impression is that the author feeeeeeeeeeels that, once we get rid of all those troublesome capitalistic influences everything else will fall into line. They won't need to rein in the Rush's and Sean's because under socialism no one will care to give them an audience.

Completely detached from reality. Fortunately the author is taken to task in the comments. These days when there is such a cacophony of shrill bleating from the low information types it is somewhat comforting to read that there are still some who get it.

There is a person who comments on a family member's FB posts. She is your typical self-deluded, lover of all, pro-abortion, pro-homo, anti-capitalist, ultra-liberal progressive. After reading one of her comments in a Phil Robertson thread, I PM's my relative, "your friend is really quite the little fascist, isn't she?"

For Lefties, it's not enough to disagree with someone, they must be silenced.

And the self-deluded Leftists call conservatives the "fascists."

I can't tell you how simple and calm my life has become since I purged all liberals from my midst. I dumped my "friends", my family members (very few of those), and I maintain a distance from my leftist co-workers. Nowadays I only interact with them on my terms (with the exception of entities like government).

Salon now helpfully points out why you're wrong about Communism (i.e. why it's wrong to think communism is bad and capitalism is good). They make a pretty compelling argument, actually, because I'm finding myself more and more intrigued by the idea of dealing with them as the communists would have.

Love their revisionist "history" lesson.   No wonder most people don't understand economics when you got crap like that.  They manage to get just about everything,,,,,,,,,,,,,wrong.

If anything the millions killed by communism is very low.   Keep in mind communism is still killing people.
