Ground Hog's Day

In this New Year, 2014, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address will occur on the same day. This is an ironic juxtaposition of events. One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to an insignificant creature of little intelligence for prognostication.

 

The other involves a groundhog.

I want to do an audio dub of the part where the Sergeant at Arms (or whoever that figurehead is in Congress) announces the President as he enters to a standing ovation. I will dub the Soviet national anthem as performed by the Red Army Choir.

Hope that speech doesn't keep repeating itself like that Bill Murray movie.    Having to hear Barry talk once is hell enough but over and over and over and over............................

If I never hear him speak again,  I would be so happy.    His voice has become as annoying as Jimmy Carters.

from what I have been reading, seems like many aren't even going to tune in, same old same old anyway followed by nothing but excuses as to why nothing gets done.

I see he has taken to blaming fox news for his "problems" since it is more and more difficult to lay the blame on bush after 5+ years, now it's all sean Hannity's fault.

the state of the union is dire and on the brink, we don't need an empty suit to try and hide the fact from us.
