I very much enjoyed part one, as did my husband and 18 year old daughter.  We can't wait for part 2 to come out on vid and then we will see part 3 in the theater!  LOL  Oh and thank you Weisshaupt!

I have not read the book, (don't enjoy reading), but my husband is picking AS1 up from the store today so we can watch it.  I know I'm late to the Atlas Shrugged party, but I am looking forward to seeing it.

I've never read the book, either.  But I can recommend a much shorter version of the same tale, Sinclair Lewis' It Can't Happen Here, because it has.
