Disney introduces lesbian couple on show
« on: February 03, 2014, 07:47:30 PM »
Quote
Here is a clip from a recent episode of The Disney Channel show Good Luck Charlie, featuring a lesbian couple coming over with their adopted child, Taylor, for a play date. Note how the main mother character, Amy (Leigh Allyn Baker) is nonchalant about exposing her daughter (Charlie) to homosexual parenting. (Amy goes on to call the lesbians a “great couple” /

I've been scaling back the Disney watching in our house. We're done now.

This is really disappointing. We monitor what our lil one watches, and Good Luck Charlie has always been a benign, funny, age-appropriate show with enough for us grown-ups to enjoy watching it with her.

Our society is crumbling, and I really don't think there's any putting it back together.

Come Lord Jesus.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

All of this you see around you, that prompts you to ask "how did it come to this?", all of it is due to the Republican Party cautioning that this or that thing is not the hill to die on.

You can't keep losing battle after battle in the cultural arena and not have consequences. You watch, today it's portraying gay couples as totally normal, tomorrow it's insinuation of bigotry to not be engaged in it yourself. I can see a time in the near future where merely indicating that you prefer the opposite sex will be met with "you answered that a little fast didn't you?" implication that you are insufficient in your deference to the equal status of same-sex couples and their artificially created "children".

Yeah, it was a good one I liked.  But this just makes it a teaching moment. My children are going to be awash in this filth as they go about their lives. I can't protect them from it-- so I have to teach them how to deal with it intelligently.  They have already had several talking-tos about Michelle Obama using Disney to push her food agenda, so the Kids won't be surprised when I show them this as yet another propaganda piece intended to affect how they view things.  After all - the left can never just come out and say what they believe and defend it, because they know its indefensible-- so they want to get in there pre-thouught and pre-understanding and change attitudes and assumptions before they form. Just another form of lying.

As I am pretty sure I have mentioned on at least one occasion, there is something seriously corrupt in the Disney organization...there is a reason that so many of their child actors and actresses turn out morally corrupt. I have to believe that, in addition to the plot/story writing mentioned above, there is a very real child predator program going on...separate the parents from the children and then corrupt them with sex and/or drugs until the inevitable happens. I cannot imagine turning my child/children over to Disney or anyone else in H'wood...it is akin to selling one's soul.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

So I discussed this with my daughter because this was one of the shows she's enjoyed. I explained that we're done with the Disney channel (she was allowed to watch when visiting my mom once a week)  and why*. She said ok.   Then suggested maybe she'd watch Food Network instead ( ::whatgives::) and I reminded her that I turned it off the other day because when introducing  the chef/contestant on Chopped it was explained she hoped to win the money to pay for a wedding to her girlfriend then showed the woman kissing her girlfriend at a backyard barbeque.  Put a fork in it.

We had a discussion about the purpose of inserting these things into shows to make you get used to it and eventually accept it. After all, you just want to watch your show so you let it go.

I explained that her older siblings had all had to face similar choices.  She decided either watching her dvds or reading would be better.

*I'd told her previously that some girls like other girls (boys and boys too) and pretend they're married and that it's gross, weird and wrong and against what our Christian faith teaches us.

Its harder and harder to avoid things you don't want to see or have kids seeing.

Even shows that you wouldn't  think would have an agenda drop them in even very subtlety.   Just look at HGTV and the DIY channels for example.    You think a show about houses and real estate would be at least neutral on the subject not wanting to invite angry backlash.

But no,  lets meet our homeowners!!!   Oh look its two gay guys, (the Canadian produced stuff is the worst offenders,  thank you taxpayers of Canada, yes,  most get tax money there, just look in the credits)  and at least one of them is flaming!!!!  And look,  they have expensive taste and like to decorate!  Talk about stereotypes!!!

If you took that ratio of gay people you see on TV you would think that gays were a large portion of the general population (less then 1% oops).    It seems some times there are as many as married couples on those home shows,  and you see them even more then singles even.     I don't know if they do it for the drama,  as it seems that those shows have more of it, but its something they don't really hit you in the head with it,  but its there.

Anybody familiar with the show "Lost Girl"?  Sci-fi stuff.  Watched a few times and then the bisexual element was introduced.  The main character is/was a bisexual succubus.  Really?  Succubus isn't weird enough?  Gunsmith calls it the "bi-bus" show.  It's on its second or third "season" now; I quit watching during its first.

Evidently I'm not missing much by not watching TV.

I never saw it but I was told that the Dr Who spinoff, Torchwood is quite gay.
Of course it's British and they've pretty much lost their balls

Yeah, the main character ( male) is immortal and gay - and of course works with his Gay Partner at torchwood.
