Republicans and whites certainly are not immune from corruption and it is merely a statistical coincidence that in this case all of the perps were Democrat and black.
That is...if you go hunting corruption in a place that is largely run by Democrats, most of whom happen to be black, it is not exactly surprising that you will find most of the guilty within their ranks.
If the same investigation were held in a largely white/Republican area I would expect to probably catch mostly white/Republican perps.
And that's because as a general rule you will find corruption where money and political power cross paths.
What is disturbing in this story is the blatant, shameless and very public display of corruption by the DA who shut the investigation down sans indictments. I don't care what race or political affiliation a person has, if they are hired to enforce the law then that is what they do. Period. I mean, come on...we sort of expect politicians to be corrupt and are pleasantly surprised to stumble upon ones that are not.
Which is why Eric Holder is such a douche. And a bad example for DA's like this. He empowers them to be corrupt. And then they are.
Can't agree more Libertas;
While living in FL. the small village I lived in voted a new mayor, Dem from Chicago, white and turned Rep. Tony M. owned his own nationally known insurance agency, making 6 figure income. Mayors salary not that high, but he wanted to 'clean up' problems. First two terms was the star of the county for all the good things he got done, and I was proud to call him friend. We played golf together, his wife and mine went out to dinner together, I was happy to help in local politics and his elections anyway I could, forming an Omnibus group in the village to root out problems serving has chair of the committee, and worked with village council. When he decided to run for county commissioner, helped get him elected his first try, but really he was a shoe-in. Then Dr. Jeckle/Mr. Hide started to appear and greed took over, he divorced his wife and her part of settlement was over $12 million ---Hmmmmmmm - big question -- where, how, and why? First saw change when he started cheating at golf-it was friendly church league - or tournaments for charity - not big money games, had to always be the winner. To shorten story - he got caught making deals for land getting huge kickbacks and bribes for other things because of county power. He and 3 other commissioners went to prison for minimum of 5 years each - all money was taken back from both he and his ex and national insurance company pulled his license and agency.
Sorry for being so long; but some dirty politicians do pay the price.
