I'll go ahead and violate Godwin's Law and make a Nazi reference here. One of the defining characteristics of that regime was its synthesis of party and state. The departments and organs of the party were merged with the official state, or operated in parallel with an obvious intent to eventually replace state agencies with party organs.
Here we have the SEIU acting as a de facto government agency, complete with the power to enter onto private property for inspection purposes. I wonder if these morons are aware of what became of the labor unions in the USSR?
