"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I most remember him from The Black Stallion, and as Huckleberry Finn.

Boys Town with Spencer Tracy, the Andy Hardy series gave me hours of TV watching.  Probably have watched those at least 3 times each, and with his death, the bet would be they will show them again.  If so I'll add another time watching.....

1.A Family Affair (1937)
2.You're Only Young Once (1937)
3.Judge Hardy's Children (1938)
4.Love Finds Andy Hardy (1938)
5.Out West with the Hardys (1938)
6.The Hardys Ride High (1939)
7.Andy Hardy Gets Spring Fever (1939)
8.Judge Hardy and Son (1939)[3]
9.Andy Hardy Meets Debutante (1940)
10.Andy Hardy's Private Secretary (1941)
11.Life Begins for Andy Hardy (1941)
12.The Courtship of Andy Hardy (1942)
13.Andy Hardy's Double Life (1942)
14.Andy Hardy's Blonde Trouble (1944)
15.Love Laughs at Andy Hardy (1946)
16.Andy Hardy Comes Home (1958)

My brother probably watched his early stuff, not sure I really knew who he was until “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” and then I remember seeing him a lot on Carson.

One of those guys it seems like has been around forever.
