Indeed, what is Hersh's angle? A Leftist always has an angle. To wit - My Lai, the angle was to shock the American public and make a war that was only unpopular among campus professors, hippies, outspoken academics and journalists more unpopular among the general population. This was the beginning of the ramping up of the "soldiers are baby-killers" campaign. Abu Ghraib - the angle was to damage the Bush Admin, period. The Left never wanted to go to Iraq and have long forgotten they wanted to go to Afghanistan and voted to go to both. And they got to smear the military once again as psychos...
So what's his angle here? Throw it all on Rogers? Rogers' angle is either the inside-baseball typical Ruling Class schtick aligning itself with its darker side of the coin as he shared their desire to see Assad go at any cost...or they had NSA-supplied dirt on Rogers...or both. Regardless, it appears the Left was ready, willing and able to use Roger's support to be the patsy...as this would also damage the Republican brand and blunt GOP gains in the mid-term elections.
So, that's the angle to me...drag Rogers through the mud, cloudy Obama Regime culpability and see if they can use this to lessen mid-term losses.
