Apostates...should all be ex-communicated and banned from any and all Catholic connection...

Well, in a sane and moral world...

Either every Catholic demands the Church stop every penny to that place or admit that Satan runs the Catholic Church

Probably hosting an inter-faith conference with the Religion of Pieces and the cow-worshippers...finding (cough! gag!) common ground, or some such nonsense...

It really stinks that most of the older or larger Catholic universities are misrepresenting themselves as being a Catholic institutions.  Its pretty clear that the Catholic church has lost operational and spiritual control of this university and others.    I imagine there are some very disappointed practicing Catholic students who have dreamed of going to a school like ND and they find the state its in.

How would they legally retake control of it?   Hard to say.  Revoke its charter?  Do they really want to?

They would likely have to sack the entire workforce and restart the whole school at this point to regain control.    Even requiring the employees to be practicing Catholics wouldn't do it,  due to the amount of people inside the Catholic church (including priests!) that do not proscribe to Catholic teaching.

Oh, by the way,  I am not Catholic.

Its no wonder people like Domino Pizza founder, Tom Monaghan has founded a new Catholic colleges like Ava Maria. So there are options out there.    Seems impossible at this point in time to reform existing schools it seems.  All the ivy league schools,  which are about as secular as you can get today, were founded by various protestant churches as seminaries.    Most still have seminaries (probably due to founding charters) but they sure aren't the focus of those schools and are the unwanted step sister for the most part.    Some of the older pastors in my church denomination have degrees from Princeton,  but few go there now (though the denomination is not the founding church of Princeton it was a school many went to).   Used to be a prized degree round here,  not so much anymore.

Seems they all drift left,  and its hard to stop.

I imagine the small Christian college I went to will get more and more secular as time goes on too.   Very likely due to not having a seminary at all,  just a general theology department (granted a very good theology department) and being liberal arts.

Umm...wow......I hate it...but I think you spoke truth. Choose sides. Now.

I trust John. He is correct, that we must not judge, in the sense of condemnation and punishment. That is from God Himself. But, I think John would agree that we must have good judgment. We must clearly discern from right and wrong and to choose wrong willingly is to align ourselves with the evil one. None of us who claim Christ want that.

Nobody wants that no matter which part of the Trinity we look to. Did idiots(men) make a  more than stupid move? YES does it mean that Catholics Agree with it?I don't do religious arguments as a rule that Satan stuff is a little out there.

Sadly, it isn't just the catholic church taking such stances. I wish I could find the quote, but one of our esteemed church leaders in my neck of the woods commented that "Christians" need to change their thinking on morality as he addressed gay marriage.

Look at any denomination you wish. There are literally thousands of churches who are moving away from biblical principles and condoning sin instead of teaching to flee from it. Many don't have pastors anymore. We have what I call the savvy, smooth communicators, getting you to buy their book, shunning the Bible..... They are marketers, not preachers. They build mega churches, they massage the message and they are successfully changing the culture of a church...... It's not like their message is always wrong but so much of what they say has no connection to Scripture.

I give as an example Rick Warren, who personally assisted barack Obama to become "cool" to "Christians". So while I wish the catholic church would grow a pair and reign in their institutions, they are no different than every other religion, being sucked into the black hole of "acceptance".

Most have fallen into apostasy, as institutions...the people belonging to them, no, not all have fallen prey...I predct a time will come when self-determined individuals set up their own "church" like in the early days of Christianity when a "church" was merely a gathering place, not a permanent edifice replete with ceremony, symbolism and bureaucracy.  Back to basics.

I think back to basics is probably correct and not a bad thing, Libertas.

Now, to dig myself out or further in.

First, there are many sincere believing Catholics.

I believe it all comes down to Satan and the battle of Light and Darkness.
Most everything we talk about here goes to that.

I agree with Predator Don.
The Catholic Church does not have a monopoly of the top of the hierarchy.
Satan is busy everywhere

As well as Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodists...
Those churches have all surrendered to Satan.

Just read this morning about the Episcopal Bishop in the north east somewhere divorcing his wife/husband or whatever he calls his "relationship".

I think this is why non-denominational churches are growing like crazy.

To paraphrase Reagan:
I didn't leave the church, the church left me

That's the nut of it right there, the hierarchy has betrayed the principles their religion established 2000 years ago, sure there are some congregations in various denominations resisting the secular humanist and socialist crud, but they are still under attack from elders higher up the bureaucracy...and the bureaucracy is the thing, it would be best for any church of any denomination to reject their masters and go independent, without that bureacracy to clutter things up the principles can be retained.

More need to act like Martin Luther or they will all succumb to apostasy in the end.  And note I said act like not be like Martin Luther, I am not advocating a denomination so just settle down out there!
