Mark Zuckerberg, one of the founders of Facebook,  gave $100 million to reform Newark city schools.   Besides becoming $100 million poorer,  it looks like the money was just about completely wasted.   I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Yeah,  I know its the New Yorker,  hardly a evenhanded "news" source,  but its still a good read.    It shows that money will not fix anything (not that the New Yorker would note that).   And that unions and their work rules need to go to get any chance at reform.    The New Yorker blames mostly the top down management style,  and the spending on consultants.

Obviously they didn't piss enough money away...everybody knows more is better...and so what if all the cronies skim off millions and nothing improves?  The meme will be "I donated, I cared, I tried" not "I was snookered, hosed and robbed...the whole system is corrupt and should be eliminated".
