I am pretty much used to horrific criminal activity but I am having a difficult time thinking of a more horrible thing than this. Not since Charles Manson...

The ex "girlfriend" is bottom left. Bottom center is the killer who shot the boy repeatedly with the gun. Top left guy beat the victim with an axe handle to prevent him from escaping and held him down in a bathtub where his kneecaps were beaten by the guy pictured bottom center who then shot him some more. Bottom right helped dispose of the remains and aided with the coverup, such as it was. It's unclear what the top center guy did but he undoubtedly was a participant in some way. There are at least two minors not pictured for the usual stupid reason.

Uh.... No. No it's not. It's the unfortunate convergence of several sociopaths.

Reminds me a little bit of a movie I watched a few years ago called "Bully". In this movie, a group of dope-smoking promiscuous delinquent teenagers get sick of the abusive tendencies of one of them, and one kid floats the idea of being rid of him, which escalates to conversations about it, which leads to thinking about doing it, which leads to a plan, and eventually an outright execution.

The movie does a fairly convincing job of exploring how the vacuums present in the lives of wayward youth can be filled with evil. The thought processes and conversations that lead to these kids acting on sociopathic thoughts seem pretty plausible within the context of the characters, who seem pretty realistically portrayed.

A very similar incident happened here in the Raleigh, NC area a couple of years ago. White trash kids lure kid to abandoned house, then kill him.  It's like the kids can't think about cause and effect, or don't consider consequences.

Well, it's time for another depressing episode of Culture Watch: White Trash Edition and I am sad to say that we have yet another example of the depraved nature of our society.

Some of you may have heard of the Father's Day massacre in NY a week ago. The murderer has been caught along with his getaway car driving spouse. Truly, if there was ever a better example of the need for the death penalty I cannot bring it to mind.

I just can't wrap my head around how a human being can walk up behind another innocent human being, and shoot him in the back of the head. To be sure, a public defender will argue diminished capacity because the shooter was a drug addict, and search for any way to make the murderer look more sympathetic to the jury.

...you just can't have a thread like this without a story about a guy who crawled into a porta-potty with a tarp and a camera* so that he could take snapshots of women defecating, up close and personal. And, yes, this happened in Boulder, CO, hippie central for the mountain state so go figure.

And, no, I don't blame him or anybody else for not chasing down and tackling someone covered in feces. That's what bullets are for.

*not sure about the camera part of the story...I just remember reading that detail somewhere when it was originally reported.

I saw this story earlier today before it got posted to AoS. I thought about posting it earlier but didn't...until I remembered this most appropriate thread for such things.

And, yeah, I do think it belongs here. Not necessarily because of what happened back in the 1960's (although it's arguably trashy and the players are most definitely of the Caucasian persuasion) but rather that the elderly Hollywood has-been felt compelled to include the sordid tale in her memoir and then release it to the press to make damn good and sure that everyone hears about it.

Personally, I hope that when she gets interviewed about this the talking head asks, "So...which other famous people have you gotten VD from?"
