I didn't mean you were suggesting she should be drowned, only that the line for unacceptable behavior is subjective and resides on a spectrum. In other words, depending on how far we want to go back, the standards for unacceptable behavior cross a line somewhere. A reverse line, where no moral good is achieved - or even great evil is committed - by the application of the standard.

They hold bartenders criminally liable for serving someone too much to drink so I'm thinking that this is a lawsuit just waiting to be filed against a tanning salon operator.

Something isn't right about that picture and the videos from which it was screen-grabbed.

I've seen people with naturally dark complexions that tan in booths every day. Even one lady who tanned in two different salons once per day. They never, ever look like that. They look unnaturally colored, but not like that. Plus, the mugshot of her (presumably taken recently since this episode with her child led to the arrest) does not look anything near that dark and unnatural.

I think that looks like makeup, not booth.

Okay but the local CBS affiliate is coming to your house for a televised interview and you obviously want to look your best so...

...your first thought is to reach for the brown shoe polish.

Or (alternative theory) maybe she really does look like this and she put on makeup for the mugshot. Now, I'm searching my memory...where did this idea come from? Hmm....

I took photography one semester in high school and I remember someone accidentally got some silver nitrate on their hand. It turned the skin a very nasty shade of black in short order. When that happens it can't be washed off because the skin is actually burned...a chemical burn.

Another thought that comes to mind is the ingestion of colloidal silver. I had heard of people making colloidal silver by way of electrolysis and then drinking it on a daily basis until they had enough silver in their system that their skin began to take on a gray or black tint.

I don't think that's what is going on here, of course, but it's something just as serious as far as the outcome is concerned.

All kidding aside, this is a serious mental condition of some sort.
