Had a friend if mine show me a small pistol, made locally, that shoots either a 45 or a 410 shell. One shot. Intrigued, I asked why he bought it. He referenced a few of the stories we have listed and stated it was difficult for him to conceal anything larger given what he had to wear while working and his work frequently takes him into areas which make him uncomfortable.......which I said, " you mean black neighborhoods"....... Which he answered, "yes", but didn't want to mention because he didn't want me to think he was racist.
I assured him I did not and with all the race baiters we have today, it was prudent to protect yourself. He began to tell me how some of his co workers had been harassed, one beaten.......which followed him stating I bet I hadnt heard about it.
As an American, I personally hate the fact there are areas "off limits", so to speak, because people behave badly. I don't mind avoiding the areas, I can take my business elsewhere, but it seems " those areas" are growing, invading malls, restaurants, etc. we have it here in mid Tennessee and I can't imagine how bad it is in less conservative states.
All I can recommend is go armed. Why my wife got her carry permit, why we discuss what we would do if confronted, why we practice.
