Islamic State of Iraq and ash Sham (Islamic State of Iraq, ISIS or ISIL) thrives, especially under the pro-Muslim reign in America of Barrack Hussein Obama...before 2008 these clowns were just another loosely affiliated radical Isslamic band of neerdowells...under Obama these clowns have grown and thrived in the vacuum of American leadership and pose a threat to the entire region...they just seized Tikrit and they have eyes for territory that comprises Iraq and Syria, they are some of the same radical Islamic clowns Obama is arming and supporting in Syria, and their mischief can be hung around the neck of Obama, he owns full responsibility for whatever these psychos do!!!

What the Iraqis fail to realize is Obama doesn't care if ISIS or AQ or whoever takes Iraq over...it's just an internal Muslim issue as far as he is concerned...so get used to it...

Frankly, I don't care about a citizenry that utterly fails to provide for its own security. The military has had plenty of time and resources to stand up, but instead half-assed it and even fled their posts (leaving behind TONS of US supplied materiel) and the citizens have largely been sitting on their asses.
As ever, it boils down to who wanted it more.

That's why I think our mission there should be limited to Whack-A-Mole. Let them have their 7th Century theme park, and as necessary smack down attempts to spread their plague.
The problem with American policy since WWII is that we've inherited all the burdens of an empire with none of the benefits. It's an incoherent policy that is unwinnable. If we're going to have all this military presence in these countries, for going on decades, then we should act like a real empire and replace their institutions with our own. Otherwise, get out.
