We have always had the incompetence and the blind adherence to leftist dogma. What we didn't have until now is the full blown Middle East crisis. But now, seemingly overnight,
it's here.BAGHDAD – The United States said Sunday it was evacuating some staff from its embassy and beefing up security as deadly explosions rocked the Iraqi capital and advancing militant Islamic insurgents released graphic images appearing to show its fighters massacring captured Iraqi soldiers.
The U.S. State Department said in a statement that an undisclosed number of staffers will be moved to Amman, Jordan, or U.S. consulates elsewhere in Iraq not immediately threatened by the insurgent group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL.
(CNN appears genuinely
perplexed at the barbarity displayed by the adherents to the religion of peace and love)
I remember the US embassy in Tehran back in 1979. This has the potential to be that except several orders of magnitude worse.
The embassy will remain fully operational with "some additional U.S. government security personnel,'' the State Department said. The embassy, inside the Green Zone near the Tigris River, employs thousands of people, some local hires and others from the United States.
The development came as photos posted on a militant website show what look to be masked fighters of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant loading captives onto flatbed trucks before forcing them to lie face-down in a shallow ditch with their arms tied behind their backs. The bodies of the captives are then shown, soaked in blood after being shot.
The last time this happened, though, it was isolated to Iran. It is possible that we are seeing the beginning of the islamic caliphate that the monsters have been striving for. I think that at the very least we can expect oil prices to begin a very dramatic rise within the next week or two. If the islamic horde breaks out of this area and pushes into Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the other Middle Eastern oil countries it could be very bad. And that's only from the standpoint of world energy supply.
The other thing to consider is Israel. Iran has been salivating over the prospects of destroying Israel for decades now. But they are a world state. They are governed by people who, although nuts in the geo-political ambition area, still have enough sanity to avoid thermonuclear war. The nut cases who are "running" this little situation in Syria/Iraq have no such restraints. They are awash in jihad and islamic glory. Plus they are right next door to Israel. What is to stop them from attacking Israel in the same manner (sheer numbers) that they are currently employing against Iraq's "strongholds?" Not us, that's for sure. Israel is alone against the horde. And that means that they will use whatever means necessary to defend themselves against annihilation.
So here we are. Due to massive incompetence at the hands of BO, HRC and Kerry we find ourselves (and by "ourselves" I mean the entire western world) looking down the barrel of a gun. Sure, we can strike at the enemy but at what cost to ourselves? It seems very unlikely that this threat will be dealt with via drones and smart bombs. It seems that we are going to have to resort to infantry or nukes. I'm guessing that BO does not have the testosterone to use nukes, though. The next meeting of the G8 leaders ought to be interesting. And you have to remember that those clowns handed out a Nobel Peace Prize to King Putt on the come. Schadenfreude strikes again.

this...Forget the endless scandals that seem to come at us every other day — the latest being the Benghazi terrorists using State Department cell phones (!), a crusade of Hispanic children pouring over our Southern border in the company of cartel drug lords and, of course, the suddenly “missing” IRS emails of Lois Lerner — the Obama administration has reached levels of hitherto unknown incompetence.
It is a complete and utter debacle.
Hardly anyone believes in the president anymore. Last night, on the O’Reilly Factor, even Geraldo deserted him. What next? James Carville? (Well, probably, to aid in Hillary’s coming separation from Obama.)
No wonder the talking heads can’t figure out how to respond to new bogeyman no. 1 Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and his ISIS on their way to creating a caliphate across Syria and Iraq that would be a mammoth staging ground for global terrorism the likes of which we have never seen. We don’t have a leader to stop him that anyone would conceivably want to follow. What we have is a serial liar who can’t even tell the truth about healthcare — or in his own memoir for that matter (assuming he wrote it). How do you trust him in war?
I am concerned for our country and for the western world. Time to have another close, hard look at my preps...ammo, food, water, gasoline. All very heavy on my mind right now. Plus, of course, my son who is currently in the Army, between duty stations and awaiting orders. Not a very good time to have
history's most incompetent president at the controls...
Ernest Hemingway observed that people went broke gradually at first then all of a sudden. Barack Obama’s career, for so long without visible means of support, has now moved onto the “all of sudden stage” of bankruptcy.
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, an al-Qaeda affiliated front of Muslims, have followed up their lightning seizure of Mosul by taking Tikrit, the former stronghold of Saddam Hussein.
In Mosul and surrounding areas, more than 150,000 troops fled their posts as the militants advanced, leaving behind thousands of weapons, including tanks and helicopters, that are now in ISIL’s possession, said Jabbar Yawer, a spokesman for ethnic Kurdish armed forces in Erbil.
The speed with which ISIL and its allies have advanced after their seizure on Tuesday of Mosul – a city of two million people – has sent alarm bells ringing not only in Baghdad but in western capitals.
Buckle up, folks...it's going to get very bumpy.
