http://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=81645The Connie was the sister ship of the Kitty Hawk (which I had one deployment on) and the second of the Kitty Hawk class, when my parents visited I wasn't able to swing a visit on the Kitty Hawk but when they were in the area later they did get to tour the Connie, they still remember that visit and talk about it from time to time.
Sad to see the old girl go, ships of the line deserve better fates than scrap, fall in battle or made a museum...heck, target practice and turned into a reef would be better...but...it is what it is...
