Years ago I got hooked on Within Temptation with lead singer Sharon den Adel.
Sharon never had any voice training they say. People compared her and them to Turunen and Night Wish. Tarja left and now the lead singer is Floor Jansen. The style of all is called symphonic metal or operatic metal or goth metal. I never really listened to the later two until now. I am not a good judge of voice but they seem very talented. Tarja is more restrained, classically trained, and sings lots of classical now.

I could get hooked on both.

Vocal Coach/Opera Singer REACTION & ANALYSIS Floor Jansen + Henk Poort "The Phantom of the Opera"
...Floor saw Henk Poort as the Phantom in the Phantom of the Opera when she was a child. He's her childhood hero, so singing this song with him is a dream come true for her.

Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen-Cabuli (born 17 August 1977), known professionally as Tarja Turunen or simply Tarja, is a Finnish heavy metal singer, best known as the former lead vocalist of Nightwish. She is a soprano with a three and a half octave range. [1] [2] [3] [4] Turunen studied singing at Sibelius Academy and Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe.
Quote
Floor Jansen is a Dutch singer and songwriter. She is the lead vocalist of Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Jansen first became known as a member of symphonic metal band After Forever, standing as their lead vocalist from 1997, when she joined at age 16, to their disbanding in 2009.

I never listened to Nightwish or Epica. I assumed they were heavy metal head bangers. Now I learned that their lead singers are awesome, very skilled.Simone Simons (Epica) and Floor Jansen (Nightwish).

Here they are singing some piece from baroque classical music that is well known.

I never much liked Phantom of the Opera music. I just learned that Nightwish has played it going way back. They looked freaky but maybe I should not have judged a book by the cover.

This TV show has singers on the couches watching other singers, taking turns singing. Here they are watching Floor Jansen sing. They are having what is called "floorgasms." Yeah, I learned a new word.

Repeats. From the Russian far east. She sings in Russian, Polish, German, English, ...

I love the irony of actual Russians dressed as Russian stereotypes, singing a Russian song that was composed by an American, written by a British, for an American video game, displaying an over-the-top version of the Soviet Union.

To alleviate the confusion,, Alina is a Russian artist. The song is a Croatian folk song from island Krk. It's in an old local dialect. She's performing it exceptionally well.

This is simply... astounding.
As a native Croatian speaker, I assure you that you have pronounced every word as a local (from Kvarner region) would.
Beautiful cover by the great artist!

The site does not like Russian characters.

I got hooked on Alina Gingertail videos. She is from the Russian far east, near the Chinese border. She covers mostly music from video games which sometimes include folk songs. I recently discovered some older videos, before she got better at singing and mimicking foreign languages. Turns out she is kinda a geek and still plays at what I would call Renaissance Fairs. She seems to really like playing music. I mean like hanging out in friends' apartment and playing.

I found some older videos. Here are a few samples. She is cuter than a box of kittens.
This is why the internet was invented.

I found a Q&A video from 2015, 8 years ago. She is apparently a very private person but performs in a folk group on stage. Go figure.

She said her first instrument was a broken mandala (mandolin?) with only 3 strings so she tuned it like the 3 stringed domra.

Here she is 10 years ago with a real domra but her singing is not very good. Singing I'll give everything for grog, in Russian
https://youtu.be/9RDvFLNiAEk

10 years later she is better at singing

Seems folks are resonating with those who are fed up with the oppression and persecution the elites are inflicting upon is...

First, Aldean's "Try that in a small town"...now this Anthony fella has 9 of the iTunes top 20 including the first 3 spots!

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2023/08/13/ahem-anthony-oliver-holds-stunning-nine-spots-amid-itunes-top-twenty-including-1-and-4-of-top-5/

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/rich-men-north-richmond-tops-itunes-voice-working-class-goes-viral

The inevitable brain-dead leftards will attack this like they did Aldean but it doesn't matter...all they do is throw gas on the fire...

The DeepState goons at the CIA acting through their subsidiary Wikipedia have labelled inflation a right-wing talking point...

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/inflation-labeled-right-wing-talking-point-response-hit-working-class-song

See that?  They are hoping people suffering under Obamian oppression via corrupt and fraudulent FJB regime policies of destruction of normals and subsidizing parasites are morons, that their loss of purchasing power devalued by federal deficit spending on crap like the slaughter in Ukraine and fat contracts to cronies that launders money back to corrupt politicians and screws the people over is all a bunch of lies spewed by political opponents they are systematically destroying with every act.

Did you catch that? Inflation apparently is now “a right-wing talking point” instead of an economic phenomenon broadly defined today as a general and sustained increase in consumer prices and a decline in the value of money.

The claim is bizarre.

There's nothing partisan about inflation, after all. It affects everyone. Rich and poor. Republican, Democrat, and Independent. People of every sex, race, and creed.

For decades, the term "silent killer" has been used by scholars, economists, and financial asset managers to describe inflation because of the gradual and often unnoticed erosion of purchasing power it causes.

Inflation has destroyed civilizations (Rome) and ushered in totalitarian regimes (Mao in China), which is why it has been decried by an array of intellectuals who were hardly “right-wingers.”

The writer Ernest Hemingway, who moved to Spain during the Spanish Civil War to oppose Franco and wrote for Pravda because he hated fascism so much, called inflation “the first panacea for a mismanaged nation.” (The second, he added, was war.)

John Maynard Keynes, the staunch anti-conservative English economist who became arguably the most influential macroeconomic thinker in history, warned in 1919 (pdf) that Vladimir Lenin “is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the capitalist system was to debauch the currency.”

“By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens,” Keynes wrote.

“The sight of this arbitrary rearrangement of riches strikes not only at security but [also] at confidence in the equity of the existing distribution of wealth.”

More recently, Lawrence Summers, the former president of Harvard and an economist that served in both the Clinton and Obama administrations, warned that inflation is undermining confidence in the American political system.

“It’s clear that inflation is significantly contributing to distrust in the institutions and to pessimism about the future,” Mr. Summers recently told The Harvard Gazette.

Clearly, one needn’t be a right-winger to be concerned about inflation.

Yeah, and this from merely a song by a struggling American...

Clearly, this begs to multiply such expressions!!!  The totalitarians are hitting all panic buttons...time to make them play whack-a-mole !
