I just came across this. Some mostly young jazz band, likely from Brazil with some real cute singers.
I loved this song long ago. The Waters of March.

The Sergio Mendes version. I will try to find a better audio version.

I never heard of this song until recently. I think it is about 9/11. I get choked up. IMO drums corps wring the most emotion out of some songs. Sergio Mendes often does the best arrangements IMO.

Here is the field version. Gets to me.

Burt Bacharach led me to this.
I never saw this video before, posted 4 months ago.
I fell in love with Sergio Mendes long ago.
I saw them live at the 1971 Wisconsin State fair.
I never saw the old photos of Lani Hall and where she sang in Chicago.
I heard that Sergio heard her sing in some Chicago coffee house and hired her at 19.
She had to ask her parents as she lived with them.
She moved to LA. Herb Alpert is the A in A&M records. A nice Jewish boy from LA.
She quit the band to stop touring and married Herb Alpert. Married now over 40 years.

I like her style. Her Game of Thrones cover is really cool. EDIT… I like how during the Mandalorian theme she’s playing the toy keyboard with Baby Yoda (Groku) on her lap. Funny stuff.

The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Ever hear of The Hu Band? Not The Who, The Hu… Mongolian “throat singing” and traditionally inspired Mongolian instruments mixed with hard rock from actual modern day Mongolian dudes.

Apparently this is an old folk song that was included in the video game World of Tanks.
She sings it in a dialect of Polish, but she is Russian. From comments she does it well.

What region of Poland the song is from? Very interesting.

@????? ????????  Well, Alina sings it in the Lesser Polish (ma?opolski) dialect. Rokiczanka https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp4endJMu1E do it, too. Soooo, I would guess, it originated from the south-southeast of the country. But you can also easily find it sung in more standard Polish.

@dvv  This song is from Lublin Voivodship. Also Rokiczanka comes from this region. And Alina sings it in Lublin dialect.
