When I do go new again, I think I'll be going the pre-loaded Linnux route, there really is a lot more to choose from now and no reason to be beholden to Miscrosoft or Apple!

I've tried to load Linux on my last 2 laptops and have never been successful. I always seem to run into glitches of some kind. When this one dies, I may go the same route.
