'Superman' renounces US citizenship
« on: April 27, 2011, 10:42:57 PM »
Not sure if Media is quite the right board for this, but anyhow the cultural icon "Superman" will in a forthcoming comic renounce his American citizenship. I guess next GI Joe's tagline will be changed from "A Real American Hero!" to "Multilateral Consensus Builder!"

Just another case of leftists embracing their "inner moron". Can't be a 'hero' without being 'fallen' (or some such nonsense).

Yes, according to the Left there are no real heroes, no no they're far more "nuanced" than that. They're really anti-heroes who have to drink heavily and/or shoot smack just to keep the gnawing demons of their existential angst at bay for one more day.

In today's climate, Superman cannot possibly be an "American"; he can only be a citizen of the world.

What the fvck happened to  "Truth , Justice , and The American Way" ?  When he got started those were the things Superman stood for . If the ungrateful , muscle-bound bastard wants to bail ... Let him ! I'm looking at Kryptonite futures right now !

Well, he did leave America because America no longer did things like stand behind the people in Iran uprising against the mullahs.

Just sayin'

Did it? I don't care enough to read the article, but to be honest, I don't fly my Stars and Stripes anymore. I flew it upside down from the '06 elections to the '08's, when I struck the colors entirely. This isn't America.

But I like the why of "his" decision. If there were an incident which would compel me to do so, that would be very close to it, but I'm not ready to quit on this place yet.

There is a point beyond which I will no longer seek to identify myself with America. If the fundamental transformative agenda is fully successful, I'll be seeking a way out. Looks like Superman has an opinion of how the Iranian people seeking freedom were left swinging in the breeze but the Obama regime.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

On the other hand Superman DID become a citizen of the UN.  ::facepalm::

Could be the little tards that write Superman just don't have a clue about how the world works.

Well, they can rewrite Superman all they want but the Superman icon wouldn't have come into existence except for America and what it stands for-- truth, justice and the American way.

So, when will we have the episode of the "man of steel" coming out of the closet?

If he is gonna renounce his citizenship, then his red, white and blue threads need to go.

It will no longer be "truth, justice and the American way".
