good deal on Danish 5.56 NATO
« on: October 17, 2014, 02:42:54 PM »
For those of you who are setting aside 5.56, AIM Surplus has some of the Danish surplus for about 39 cents a round.  This is NATO ammo so it's well made for long term storage.  If you get the 900 round pack it comes in an ammo can with no shipping charge.

Yes, I just bought 900 rounds :)

That's too good 'a deal to pass by.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I received my case of this ammo yesterday.  It's packed very nicely.  The ammo is loaded onto 10 round stripper clips, and each clip is sealed in a plastic blister.  There's 30 of these sealed blisters in a cardboard sleeve, secured by a shipping strap.  That makes for 300 rounds in a sleeve, and there's three of these sleeves in an unused 50 caliber metal ammo can for 900 rounds total.  The cartridges themselves are bright and clean, with annealed case necks.

I don't know anything yet about performance, but the ammo does have the NATO cross on the case so that means it has to conform to standards.  This is a good buy for anyone needing some 5.56.

ETA: here are some pics of what you get

AIM has a Black Friday deal on this ammo.  $319 delivered.  That's a great price on this type of ammo.  I've already bought too much lately, so I'll be missing out.
