Levin hammers Gingrich (audio)
« on: May 16, 2011, 10:24:54 PM »
Gingrich is SO NOT what conservative Americans want and need. Mark Levin frames it by providing Gingrich with an ample supply of rope.

Levin hammers Gingrich (audio) [or; tone-deaf Newt hangs himself while Levin looks on]
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Heard it.  What is Gingrich talking about, "modify Ryan's plan", "we need a discussion"?  His rationale is he doesn't want this foisted on people ala Obamacare.  I'd rather foist on people the responsibility for them taking care of themselves than forcibly removing from us the choice.

Truth?  I got the feeling Gingrich doesn't want to let go of Medicare; he wants the government to control it, as part of the smarter Ruling Class.  Furthermore, did you catch that whine about all these years later the photo with him and Pelosi on the couch is brought up now?  Tough sht.

Newt.  Out.

Newt.  Out.

He's typical of wanting to be the smartest guy in the room. He has to change the plan so he can call it his. To agree with Ryan is to be second best. He's not built like that. When was the last time somebody handed Newt his ass in a conversation like you just heard?

Did you catch how many times he stressed it needs to be a bill you can understand. Because,  Ryan made a rough sketch that he and his committees will have to massage ("fundamentally transform medicare") into something more sophisticated then word it for the peasants.

This jerk has been seeking to "fundamentally transform" (a Toffler phrase I believe) everything he can get his hands on since 1994.

Levin handed him his ass. But, gently.

Gingrich was gulping and looking for ways to cover it.

Way to go Mark

Also, did you note that what Gingrich apparently "got" from Mark's criticism of his statements about the Ryan plan was that he erred in not more deftly sidestepping the question. He out and out called it that. Uh, no, Newt. Our displeasure is not that you failed to sidestep the budget plan with a typical politician's non-answer, but rather that the answer you did provide clearly shows you're not who we need.

He's yesterday's news. He and all the other retreads need to just hang it up.

He turned into a pansy ever since getting hit with the "withering on the vine" comment that the Clintons took out of context, but it stuck and poor little gNewt will do anything not to get tarred with that again, even if it means throwing a conservative under the bus.  I have no time for his word games and bloated ego and precious sensibilities!  Just go away!

Newts a rino and will now go as far as he can regardless of voters wishes. He is exactly what we are trying to rid ourselves of.

I did mention his big ego.  No faster way to have him blow a gasket and burn more bridges than by ridiculing his lack of intellectual honesty and challenging the decisions he has made.

Go for the throat, he'll bleed fast...the faster the better!

Remember back in the last presidential campaign,
newt sided up with hillery to say that her obamacare had merit,
and that we should work on it.

He's a classic liberal hiding in the republican party.

Yes.  There is enough on him that if candidates really want to, they could unload on him in the next debate, bloody him up good.

Just like Newt believed that co-opting the Global Warming scam was politically expedient, he now believes his path to the nomination is to position himself as opposed to the "extremists" on the conservative wing of the party. In other words, he's McCain redux.

Screw him. We cannot allow the nomination to go to such a man.

Yes, another one of those "above it all" pretenders. Isn't it funny how it's conservative positions that you must torpedo in order to claim that "above it all" status, and never ever liberal positions?

How can he seriously call Ryan's plan social engineering? The social engineering was enacting the crap in the first place. All Ryan is trying to do is make it solvent. Personally my position is that the programs should be eliminated entirely, but if we're going to be stuck with them for the immediate future, they might as well work in the manner that people have planned their entire lives around.
