Military at the breaking point
« on: December 08, 2014, 07:07:45 AM »
This just enrages me.  Military life has always been hard on families, but the long and multiple deployments, worsened by The Purges and stupid social engineering BS that distracts from the military's basic function (to break things and kill people), the economic strain made worse by a horseshyt economy run by Neo-Keynsian fools and Obamunist jackasses coupled with lousy raises and reduced benefits by this Regime, stupid ROEs and decisions made that affect the very existence of personnel deployed in harms way, archaic regulations that get in the way of health (treatment or just plain seeing a doc) and safety (being allowed to carry on base/Muslim threat) issues, recruiting issues and having to settle for less than ideal candidates (this I think is Obama's way of infiltrating the military with drones amenable to his goals!), and if you do make it to retirement look how crappy we treat our Vets now!

I know it sucks out here in the civilian sector too, it sucks everywhere, but my advise is to get out.  Try to line something up while you are still in, try to find friends or family that can help you out while you (and your spouse) look for opportunities or attend a trade school or local college, there has to be a place out for you here somewhere.  Heck a few of you could maybe go into business together and make a go of it.  Maybe people reading this story will advertise their desire to hire newly returned veterans to work in their businesses.  Where there is a will there is a way.  Please, we need you more than the government does.

Obviously we know about the d's role in all this and the antipathy if not outright hostility they traditionally feel toward the military, but f**k the r's for allowing it to happen.
Just like everything else they can't be bothered to fight for.

Yeah, chosing not to take a lousy political hill for the people who take real hills and die and bled in the attempt is a harsh betrayal to swallow!

Me too.

I just came here to post this...thanks. This bodes even worse for the citizenry; when thus demoralized, how easy will it be to turn the head, and target us in a declaration of Marshall Law?

Once the good are gone and there is nothing left but yes-folk, dregs and crazies?  Yeah, it could happen.  But if that is all they got they won't last long, long enough to slaughter a lot, but not to win the long haul.

Yeah the Rs own plenty of this dismal state of affairs.  Asinine ROE goes back to the Korean War, and has only gotten worse since Political Correctness. No president, R or D, has done anything but make it worse.

As to the question about what might happen when all they've got left are the Yes Men?  Sure, they might use them to drop the hammer on the citizenry.  The answer to that is to make them run out of Yes Men.  All those fearsome weapon systems require a lot of downtime and maintenance.  They depend on a complex logistical train, and each layer of complexity represents a potential failure point that can be exploited.

The Carter and Clinton years were rough on the military,  but were nothing compared with the destruction of the current regime.  It will take decades to recover from the Obama years,  that is,  if we can put in leadership that want it to recover.
