And ZeroHedgers have kittens over a story largely lifted from the US Navy's own press release, so the fact that a carrier preparing for deployment takes on a lot of ordnance even if it is the most anyone at the depot has seen a ship take does not mean an invasion is immenent anywhere...it could mean either an extended deployment in the Persian Gulf and/or additional ammo needed by sister ships or ground crews.

With two carriers in dry dock, two in maintenance and one entering dry dock and one entering maintenance and one just returning from deployment we are down to 4 carriers, and the Vinson will have to be releived in the Gulf and Stennis looks to be its releif, and the Reagan will have to fill the Washington's role as the forward deployed carrier while it is down for maintenance and it might not get there till mid-summer, leaving only the Roosevelt available and the Truman perhaps available later in the year.

Looks to me like those folks on the Stennis are going to have an extended tour of the Persian Gulf and won't be anywhere near Ukraine!
