Minnie Minoso, "Mr. Sox", 1925-2015
« on: March 02, 2015, 01:55:49 AM »
Chicago loses yet another baseball great.   Minnie Minoso of the White Sox passed away Sunday morning.   It is thought a heart condition was the cause.   He attended Ernie Banks funeral just two months ago.

Like Ernie Banks he was a fan favorite,  moving to the front office after  his playing career was over.

Kubek recalled Minoso attending the wake for former Yankees and White Sox first baseman Moose Skowron in 2012. "Some of us went out for something to eat afterward," Kubek said. "Someone asked Minnie how old he was." His answer was a question: 'Uh, I don't know ... a hundred-something?'"

Well, lets just say he had a good run.   ::thumbsup::

R.I.P. Minnie.
We are now where The Founders were when they faced despotism.
