The minute that federal student loans go away, or get changed to make colleges have more skin in the game (they becoming responsible for loan defaults), we will be blown away by the amount of colleges and universities the close their doors forever.
Most schools are so dependent on the easy money, most won't be able to cope with the federal money going away. Even well known universities will go bankrupt and close. Thousands could close in short order.
Maybe that isn't a bad thing.
Colleges like Hillsdale in Michigan(one of a handful of US colleges that refuse tax money) are very rare, but would be one of the few that would survive.
Looks like Sweet Briar are blaming their rural location for the lack of students. Yeah, its because they aren't in some big city sure, not.
