James Best 88, (Sheriff Rosco of Dukes of Hazard)
« on: April 07, 2015, 07:43:04 PM »
One of my favorite actors when I was a kid,  James Best passed at 88 after a short illness.   Best known for playing crooked, but still likable Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane.   Dukes of Hazard is still one of my favorite TV shows.  RIP Mr. Best.

I have to confess I have no idea who this fella is. I never watched a single episode of "Dukes". Not because I consciously chose not to - just never did.

Rest in peace.  ::praying::
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

RIP James Best. He made many a character in yesterday's western TV programming. You'll find him when you least expect.
