Study linking Autism/vaccination: complete fraud
Post by irondiopriest on Jan 6, 2011, 9:46am

Autism is a strange condition. The frequency of diagnosis is definitely on the rise. But is that due to autism being on the rise, better sophistication in diagnosis, or – like ADHD and other diagnosis that manifest in behavioral symptoms – is the increase in diagnosis really just doctors filling a demand for people who need to have something medically wrong to explain everything that falls outside what they consider normal?

If this report is to be believed, it seems that one supposed cause is now off the table.

But then again, how are we to believe a word the scientific community puts forth? The AGW fraud has ruined the credibility of scientists, because they have rendered "peer review" to punch-line status.

Confirmed: Study that linked autism to vaccinations a total fraud
A now-retracted British study that linked autism to childhood vaccines was an “elaborate fraud” that has done long-lasting damage to public health, a leading medical publication reported Wednesday.

An investigation published by the British medical journal BMJ concludes the study’s author, Dr. Andrew Wakefield, misrepresented or altered the medical histories of all 12 of the patients whose cases formed the basis of the 1998 study — and that there was “no doubt” Wakefield was responsible.

“It’s one thing to have a bad study, a study full of error, and for the authors then to admit that they made errors,” Fiona Godlee, BMJ’s editor-in-chief, told CNN. “But in this case, we have a very different picture of what seems to be a deliberate attempt to create an impression that there was a link by falsifying the data.”

Britain stripped Wakefield of his medical license in May. “Meanwhile, the damage to public health continues, fueled by unbalanced media reporting and an ineffective response from government, researchers, journals and the medical profession,” BMJ states in an editorial accompanying the work.

That bastard need to be jailed as an example for the rest of them out there that take money like this. Not to mention how many children were not protected because of it.

How many people have unnecessarily died of malaria since the apoplexy over DDT?

But they all meant well so you can't be to hard on them liberals.
We are so far past and beyond the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that the Colonists and Founders experienced and which necessitated the Revolutionary War that they aren’t even visible in the rear-view mirror.
