A newsletter I subscribe to informs me of many things Christian oriented in the news. But I just penned a response to an article they included in this week's blast about the increase in Christian harassment. The comments section is full of replies from people I'm sure are decent...but timid folk (reflecting concern & wondering what the proper response should be).
My comment is awaiting moderation...but here's what I wrote:
Some thoughts on Harassment:
In the beginning was the Word & the Word was with God & the Word was God.
So Jesus, the Word – is obviously part & parcel of the entire bible – not just the New Testament. The Old Testament tells us that there’s a time to hate as well as kill & Proverbs speaks often about taking down bad leadership & praying calamity upon one’s enemies.
Yes there’s a time to “turn the other cheek” & love those who may speak ill of or persecute you; but there’s also a time to fight back - physically. Men in women’s restrooms when my wife & daughter are present will be removed-by ME. Any seeking to abridge my freedoms will be warned, then beaten & if necessary, shot.
We’re all contributing here because George Washington, at one time, lay down his bible, picked up his gun (along with his army) & shot the British dead (as opposed to reciting Scripture to them).
Jesus Himself thinks it’s a good idea to be armed for those times when force is eventually necessary (sell your cloak & buy a sword).
Anyone coming for my cookies will be treated as in the movie, ‘The Book of Eli’. If you have a problem with that attitude…go whine to your pastor.
No quarter asked…none given.

LOL - "Comment Denied" (for none of the reasons they say they decline for [slurs, personal attacks, vulgarity]) - so I unsubscribed & sent 'em all a personal invitation to grow a pair of balls...which'll no doubt get me banned
