They have explicit rules governing teacher walkouts and strikes in Washington state but there is zero enforcement. What the WEA (Washington "Education" Association typically does each fall is select a district to call a strike. Nothing regarding working conditions or unfair anything - they are chosen at random. And they get away with it - every time.
Back in the 70’s when New York Teachers Union went on strike someone asked Albert Shanker, President of the NYC Teachers Union “What about the kids, don’t you care about the kids?” And he replied, “When school children start paying union dues, that’s when I’ll start representing the interests of school children.
