No. Seriously.

People living on a nuclear test site!  Well maybe radiation  just isn't as dangerous as every one thinks since Life on this planet evolved in a sea of it underneath a perpetual fusion explosion.

He's saying everything we "know" about the atomic bombing of Japan is wrong?  WTF?

It's ZeroHedge.  I didn't read the article, but let me take a crack at it:

"Japan was desperately trying to surrender, but the US wouldn't accept their offers of surrender because we wanted to use those bombs on them, so we could show off in front of the USSR."

This is clearly in opposition to reality, as even after the atomic bombs, the military leadership of Japan tried to pull off a coup when the Emperor finally agreed to surrender.  And even if there were some backchannel communication about a possible surrender prior to the atomic bombs?  Unconditional surrender was the only acceptable outcome.  It's just the lens the ZH crowd view everything through, that America must necessarily always be the real bad guy, and that other bad guys were bad only because they were unwittingly manipulated by America.  A lot of them won't even acknowledge that radical, jihadi Islam is a real thing.  They insist it's all a CIA concoction -- despite 1,400 years of history that show how very real it is.

Well this is good news. Now barky doesn't have to apologize for dropping the (non) bomb.

When Boris Alotovkrap calls an article out as being a joke you know ZH is hard up for ad revenue to post such dreck.

So I scanned through the article, and I guess the gist of it is that we learned how to fake the moon landings with all the practice we got faking the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs.  Ok.

The author goes on to say that Bikini Atoll was repeatedly bombed, but was repopulated by 1968.  Yeah, but does anyone grow food there?  The coconut trees appear normal, and they drop coconuts, but you would be ill advised to eat them unless you want radioactive strontium isotopes incorporated into your bones.

We also know what happened when Chernobyl's reactor blew up.  Radioactive ash and steam spewed into the atmosphere.  There is a large death zone surrounding the site, but you wouldn't know just by looking at it.  Plants and animals are thriving there due to lack of human disruptions.  But yeah, you would be ill advised to eat anything from there.  There's an interesting website this Ukrainian woman has, where she posts lots of photos from her motorcycle tours through the death zone.  If you stay on pavement the background radiation levels aren't too bad, but when you approach vegetation you get higher readings on a Geiger counter.

I didn't read the whole thing though.  Did it get around to pointing fingers at the International BankstersTM?

Definitely.  But I don't think there isn't a correlation between the increase in annoying ads there and the increase in moronic articles.  Their bread and butter was economics and finance...you have to wade through a lot of detritus to find those good posts now.  They've definitely devolved...it's what happens when idiots get too popular, it brings in all sorts of worthless characters not invested in the original purpose.  Can we call that the Red State Effect?  Or perhaps we have to go back further...the Powerline Effect.

Bikini is still deserted, people visit for short times but the Geiger readings are still too high for any visit longer than a half hour or you might grow a third eye and die of cancer, so myth busted there.  Same for Chernobyl.  The moon landing thing is a joke...there has yet to be any credible evidence that was a hoax, the real hoax is socialism and all the sh*t shoved down our throats that doesn't work and will never work yet so many people are too stupid to figure it out...best/worst hoax of all time.

And I don't recall the article going too hard on banksters per se but they went apesh*t over the Establishment so same thing.

This is the kind of article one would expect to come out of the deranged mind of Oliver Stone.
