The Management of Savagery: How America's National Security State Fueled the Rise of Al Qaeda, ISIS, and Donald Trump Hardcover – April 2, 2019
by Max Blumenthal

I just finished The Management of Savagery. 300 pages plus many pages of endnotes giving sources. A good book.  Heavily sourced as though he knew it would be attacked. He connects the dots and traces the effects of the US arming Jihadists around the world. People in DC did not want that done. He names the various organizations including the supporting DC think tanks and NGOs that seem to have endless money.

The US kept AQ and ISIS alive in Syria to use as pressure against Assad. it took the Russians and Syrians to defeat them. The US did not want to defeat them. This is supported in the book.

He could have left out all the parts about 'Islamophobia' and how this brought us Donald Trump and the book would have been better. He does not engage in nearly as much name calling as he does on video. He characterizes anyone not liking Islam as a two dimensional cartoon character but then moves on to something interesting.

The title came from a paper by some Jihadist on strategy.

Here is a 24 min video discussion of the book. Some concise examples from the book.
I'll bet you did not know some of this from the video alone.

Here is a search on Blumenthal talking about his book.

Max Blumenthal talking about his book. IMO this is very good. You won't hear most of this from the MSM or the US govt.
I do not usally like him on other subjects.

Around 31 min in. The Blind Sheik came into the US on a CIA visa.
33 min. A photo and praising article about OBL.
35:30 to 37:20 Wealthy GOP ladies were "adopting a Muj" (Mujahideen ) at a McCain event.
Also a shot from Rambo 3 dedicating the movie to the Mujahideen.

Around 1:07:00 the guy who killed at the Ariana Grande concert was working for British intelligence. Ghadaffi was the first guy to report OBL and was not believed.

At 1:11:00 they talk of Ghadaffi predictions and details on Libya. He warned of OBL very early on.

1:20:00 talk about Benghazi. Then about Syria. VERY INTERESTING.
