String Theory and others like it are merely constructs without evidence thrown up to patch the gaping hole between quantum mechanics and gravity...the Grand Unification Theory (GUT) seeks to unite three of the four forces (the strong nuclear force, the weak nuclear force, the electro-magenetic force and gravitational force)...but some (correctly) see uniting just three as pointless if one is left out...so then the Holy Grail of Physics is The Theory of Everything (ToT). ToT is the uniting gravity with the other three. Because the world of the very small (quantum mechanics) and the world of the very large (gravity..."Relativity") cannot get along together in the human mind and world, many human minds are throwing darts trying to luck their way into an answer...or onto a path to the beginning of an answer. Part of this quest drove Einstein nuts for the last half of his life - gravity and electromagnetism, the "unified field theory", he never got there. The cosmological constant he devised left a bad taste in his mouth, it felt like a plug, a short cut...but observations of the expanding universe have proven it correct, just because we don't understand "why" hasn't made it wrong. Hence, Dark Matter and Dark Energy were developed as ideas to try to explain the missing mass and energy that make the CC work. So far none of Einstein's work has been proven false. Evidence of his brilliance is everywhere...have a GPS? Without his calculations you would drive your car off the road. IMO no human alive or who has ever lived was more brilliant than Albert...and I don't think anybody is even close to challenging that status, and I don't think anybody will for a century or more.
Oh, where was I going with this? Well, fantasy is nice, it's fun...speculation if treated right can be useful in a game theory kind of way...beyond that I merely need to keep things in the realm of the possible. Anything played out on Coast to Coast is entirely in the entertainment realm.
