Who's "we"?  We (here) have been talking about that for years...possibly decades now if we go back to our old PowerLine days...

And this is actually an old story...the Goebbels Media likes to bring it up...and no surprise the Smegyn brings it up...her ratings are scrapping the bottom of th toilet...

I wish there was a serious effort to rid America of all Islamic influence...it is a disturbed, perverse, sick and evil twisted cult that is incompatible with freedom and liberty...not to mention our Judeo-Christian heritage that the proglodytes enjoy pissing on.

One wonders if US wars lead to terrorism, refugees, debt, and tyranny.

No, terrorism exists for its own purposes, especially the Islaminal variant...there is NO appeasing that, only submission, servitude or death.

As for the others...all wars create refugees, most stay in their regions...debt, definitely unless you raid the conquered of everything, which the US hadn't traditionally done, though private enterprise (banana wars) do benefit as do the financiers...tyranny, depends on the situation, some ground is more fertile than others...our is becoming more ripe....

War has all the characteristics of socialism most conservatives hate: Centralized power, state planning, false rationalism, restricted liberties, foolish optimism about intended results, and blindness to unintended secondary results.

Isn't defending us (war) one of the powers the government already have?    State planning? You mean Federal government that controls our defense?
False rationalism?  Restricted liberties?  Foolish optimism?  Secondary results?  Tell all that to Europe after the WWII.

  What is your solution?

For Islam, merely being non-Muslim is provocation enough. The Crusades are often touted as an example of Western belligerence, but the first Crusade didn't begin until the late 11th century.  Islam had been engaging in aggressive jihad for the preceding 4 centuries.

Our foreign policy is stupid and we end up in too many military conflicts of dubious benefit to America, but that would not end Islamic aggression.  Sweden has been victim of several attacks in the past few years, a country of geographic remove from the Muslim world and one whose pacifism is well known.

Soup, I have a feeling (& had from its first post) that 'lafreedom' (la freedom) is the effeminate of 'lefreedom' (le freedom). It seems to be wrestling with online gender issues (which may in fact spill over into its reality...but I don't know that for sure).

It seems to want to poke in with a leftist POV...dipping its confused toe into the waters.

(or it's just me - tossed & turned all night, dreaming of interring, waterboarding & torturing Muzzies & 'Slims @ a special locked down Safe House - woke up sleepy & a little cranky).  ;)

Yup, far as I know Sweden has never set one boot into an Islaminal area...

And bending over backwards to kiss their savage asses hasn't engendered them to the locals one bit...

It's just given the invaders easy necks to slit...

There is only one answer to Islam for anybody who values true liberty and freedom - extermination.  One will never be friendly with a true-believer that non-believers should be raped, beaten, enslaved and murdered...never.

Hmm, I don't think so...I sense a Ron Paul strain of Libertarian...as I've said often I like Paul on fiscal and economic issues...on foreign policy, military and social issues he is a nut-case...it's the Code Pink foreign policy and such that mystifies me more than anything...how can people be so rational on economic issues and so batshyt crazy on everything else?  That and sometimes that strain can be rabidly anti-Jewish.  Not that I am accusing anybody, merely speaking in broad terms...

As in the previously discussed matter of Islam...not bombing one group of cultists or other is NOT going to de-radicalize Islaminals, make them more friendly to us one iota.

Paulian's just cannot wrap their head around that simple truth...they hate us, period...because we are not of their cult, period.  And even if we were of their cult...they would hate us if we are wealthier or more well off than their clan...they are so like progs...perpetually unhappy...

Progs would be happier if they were not Progs and Muzzies would be happier if they were not Muzzies...that's the truth!

How to convince a Paulian of the truth of Islam is like trying to convince a Prog the truth of Liberty...it's pointless to try to convince the insane.

Why should Americans die for Israel?

Because you take the time to shove un-shucked ears of corn up your azz & ingest semen on a regular basis...?

Oh, btw...welcome to the forum!  ;)

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.
