The Columbia Email

From a link at AoS...

Columbia college has a unique system.  EVERY student takes approximately the same 81 credits.  This is the “core curriculum”.
Unlike other schools this is not ‘one from column A, and one from column B’ but the same courses for all undergrads.

You need 161 credits to graduate.

The college handbook clearly discusses the fact that it is effectively impossible to transfer in as a junior because there is no substituting these credits for classes taken anywhere else.

Hence, you will not be able to graduate, with the required major credits.  (there is a way to appeal this – it has just never happened.  Or, apparently did in his case).

So, how did a self admittedly poor student from a third rate college (Occidental) get into one of the worlds great liberal arts colleges at a time when they do not accept any transfers?
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

This is the sort of thing that gives rise to conspiracy theories.  Forget about his birthplace.  He's had one door after another opened for him in his life.  He's a multimillionaire.  How the hell did that happen, given his limited talents and accomplishments, not to mention his almost nonexistent work history?
We are so far past and beyond the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that the Colonists and Founders experienced and which necessitated the Revolutionary War that they aren’t even visible in the rear-view mirror.

Having a ghostwritten faux-tobiography before serving even one day in the Senate sure didn't hurt.  Now the worthless POS will continue to make millions on the rubber chicken circuit once he's summarily booted from office.

And the more I think about it, the more I have never heard of a Harvard transfer student before.  Probably why he executive ordered his college records buried deeper than Osama's corpse.  Plus, the thing that still gets me, one among many mind you, is that so many still do not know he voluntarily gave up his law license to prevent an investigation into his lying to the Illinois State Bar, as did his wife voluntarily give up hers to prevent an investigation into her corruption (which is one way to make a ton of money, especially in Chicago).  Now what minority person is going to give up such an 'achievement' without a fight?  Only those who had it handed to them, I guess, and didn't have to work for it.  This guy's had the wheels greased his whole life with no one ever telling him 'no' or 'you're an idiot', which is why the Bibi smackdown was so delicious.  In that presser, you could just see the Palestinean Jew-hatred mirrored in Obama's eyes and body language.

This is a question I have continued to ask.

Finally, I shared a class with him.  Brzezinski’s Presidential Brief class.  He made his presence known during what was the big issue of that day, the SALT treaty discussions.

Before the section of the course began, Brzezinski said that he would not entertain discussion about unilateral disarmament.  That no President would ever consider it.

Obama began the section by standing up and trying to argue for it, forcing Brzezinski, for the only time in the whole year (this is the incident that made me remember him) and chiding a student and sitting him down.

Kinda puts into perspective the recent treaty with the Rooskies, doesn't it?  Everything we learn about this clown just raises more questions.  It is almost as if his path was provided to him.  But if true, for what purpose?  I shudder at the possibilities, but it just adds to the darkness of every one of his actions!

Read the comments at Trap's link. Click on the Reply button as some comments to comments are hidden. A couple of Columbia Grads ( ok, so they said . . .) dispute the initial proposition that nobody transfers to Columbia.

The comments are as interesting as the article.
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living
are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

That alone should have been enough to bury his campaign.

No one willingly gives up a law license unless it's to avoid even worse consequences.

I caught some of those comments BigAl...but very few logical points are to be found within a maelstrom of vitriol.  The Leftbots are not always effective defenders of Columbia, if I was a member of that institution and gave a damn that is!
