What the Alternative Right is
In the interest of developing a core Alternative Right philosophy upon which others can build.
The Alt Right is of the political right in both the American and the European sense of the term. Socialists are not Alt Right. Progressives are not Alt Right. Liberals are not Alt Right. Communists, Marxists, Marxians, cultural Marxists, and neocons are not Alt Right. National Socialists are not Alt Right.
The Alt Right is an ALTERNATIVE to the mainstream conservative movement in the USA that is nominally encapsulated by Russel Kirk's 10 Conservative Principles, but in reality has devolved towards progressivism. It is also an alternative to libertarianism.
The Alt Right is not a defensive attitude and rejects the concept of noble and principled defeat. It is a forward-thinking philosophy of offense, in every sense of that term. The Alt Right believes in victory through persistence and remaining in harmony with science, reality, cultural tradition, and the lessons of history.
The Alt Right believes Western civilization is the pinnacle of human achievement and supports its three foundational pillars: Christianity, the European nations, and the Graeco-Roman legacy.
The Alt Right is openly and avowedly nationalist. It supports all nationalisms and the right of all nations to exist, homogeneous and unadulterated by foreign invasion and immigration.
The Alt Right is anti-globalist. It opposes all groups who work for globalist ideals or globalist objectives.
The Alt Right is anti-equalitarian. It rejects the idea of equality for the same reason it rejects the ideas of unicorns and leprechauns, noting that human equality does not exist in any observable scientific, legal, material, intellectual, sexual, or spiritual form.
The Alt Right is scientodific. It presumptively accepts the current conclusions of the scientific method (scientody), while understanding a) these conclusions are liable to future revision, b) that scientistry is susceptible to corruption, and c) that the so-called scientific consensus is not based on scientody, but democracy, and is therefore intrinsically unscientific.
The Alt Right believes identity > culture > politics.
The Alt Right is opposed to the rule or domination of any native ethnic group by another, particularly in the sovereign homelands of the dominated peoples. The Alt Right is opposed to any non-native ethnic group obtaining excessive influence in any society through nepotism, tribalism, or any other means.
The Alt Right understands that diversity + proximity = war.
The Alt Right doesn't care what you think of it.
The Alt Right rejects international free trade and the free movement of peoples that free trade requires. The benefits of intranational free trade is not evidence for the benefits of international free trade.
The Alt Right believes we must secure the existence of white people and a future for white children.
The Alt Right does not believe in the general supremacy of any race, nation, people, or sub-species. Every race, nation, people, and human sub-species has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, and possesses the sovereign right to dwell unmolested in the native culture it prefers.
The Alt Right is a philosophy that values peace among the various nations of the world and opposes wars to impose the values of one nation upon another as well as efforts to exterminate individual nations through war, genocide, immigration, or genetic assimilation.
TL;DR: The Alt Right is a Western ideology that believes in science, history, reality, and the right of a genetic nation to exist and govern itself in its own interests.

The patron saint of conservatives, Russell Kirk, wrote: "The great line of demarcation in modern politics, Eric Voegelin used to point out, is not a division between liberals on one side and totalitarians on the other. No, on one side of that line are all those men and women who fancy that the temporal order is the only order, and that material needs are their only needs, and that they may do as they like with the human patrimony. On the other side of that line are all those people who recognize an enduring moral order in the universe, a constant human nature, and high duties toward the order spiritual and the order temporal."

This is no longer true, assuming it ever was. The great line of demarcation in modern politics is now a division between men and women who believe that they are ultimately defined by their momentary opinions and those who believe they are ultimately defined by their genetic heritage. The Alt Right understands that the former will always lose to the latter in the end, because the former is subject to change.

Being a wordsmith I can quibble and nibble..but overall not a entirely bad attempt to define Alt-Right...I'm not sure though if I am as much Alt-Right as I am Pro-Founding Fathers, the distinctions being both slight and material depending upon the subject.  Some of the comments following are good, others kind of stupid.  Something to chew on and kick around anyway...

So, you've found VoxDay.  Good thing.

IMHO, the Founding Fathers were alt-right.

In most things, yes...it can also be fairly said that some of what we face today they had no inkling of considering, because naturally it never existed to be a consideration...the ethnic background, religious background and cultural background was free of exotic contaminants...their concerns were more along the lines of Enlightenment thinking and seeing history teach truisms in the history they were seeing firsthand, and checking the failings of mankind and Monarchical Tyranny as well as Tyranny of the Mob was a central theme in their grand experiment.  They thought as long as the people remained moral and ethical and free of foreign influences there was a chance for prosperity over a long term...and they had no concerns over the rights of the individual being usurped or the limits on the state being removed...they thought such instances would enrage a free and armed populace to once again rise and take control of their Liberty.  Sadly, the former efforts continue to march along and the latter has yet to occur...

I still don't understand this whole "Alt-right" thing.

I'm a freaking Constitutional conservative. Period.

What don't you understand about the list that is Libertas' first post?

Alan, if you take a look at it I think you will find, like most of us, that you will see more in line with your philosophy than you might have thought.  Steve Bannon formerly of Breitbart, the Trump Campaign and Trump Admin is leading the charge of, for lack of a better word "real" (or Alt-Right) Conservative candidates targeting Establishment choices of the GOP, Bannon is the de facto Knight Errant of the Alt-Right and in essence our cause is his.

What don't you understand about the list that is Libertas' first post?

What I don't understand is why the left had to come up with Alt-Right to begin with.

Because the Left needs a new entity to demonize and the E-GOP forced people to break from them...in essence the Left and the E-GOP are both on the same page with regard to us for many of the same reasons as well as reasons of their own...

Lemme see....what would be an appropriate response to the left attempting to define anything - least of all the Right People.

F them and the slugs they slithered in on!

I saw people both drawn to and repelled by the phenomena called "alt-right" - and all based on perceptions conceived of and promoted by the left. Of course we saw the same thing with the TEA party - so much so that righties who should have known better shied away.

I don't know that that the Left named the alt-right; I suspect the definers of it named themselves .... to distinguish from the can't-conserve-anything Right.  The Left and the Establishment Right, though, have done a damned good job of demonizing the alt-right.

Demonizing conservatism, period. And I'm gettin' pretty weary of it.

I really wish I was this eloquent.

Quote
“Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all. We disapprove of state education. Then the socialists say that we are opposed to any education. We object to a state religion. Then the socialists say that we want no religion at all. We object to a state-enforced equality. Then they say that we are against equality. And so on, and so on. It is as if the socialists were to accuse us of not wanting persons to eat because we do not want the state to raise grain.”? Alan, I'm definitely not trying to start an argument here, 'k.  Just answer me this:  you identify as Conservative?  What exactly are you conserving, since the Constitution is a null concept at this point, so what ............ ?

At this point, "conservatives" are at the front of conserving every inroad the Left has ever made.  Think about it.

Yeah...all that creeping incrementalism of the Left locked into place by E-GOP refusal to fight for anything...the "no hill worth taking" BS we've come to know all too well and despise with increasing levels of hostility!  Allowing the Leftist pols and Goebbels Media henchmen to define terms and set conditions...locked into place by E-GOP cowardice and fecklessness!

The same tactics and conspirators that destroyed the Tea Party are at it again...the assassination of Roy Moore and Bannon and the Alt-Right is fully engaged right now.  The E-GOP is joining forces with the DemoProgs to rid themselves of a common enemy - us - and it will leave the DemoProgs once again in control over the all-too-easy-to-manipulate E-GOP!

So...until the E-GOP is destroyed, the battle with the DemoProgs will never be fully engaged...just like the war against the Death Cultists of Mohammad (the Left Hand of Satan!) will never be fully engaged until the DemoProgs are dealt with.

Let me know when enough people have come to their senses and are ready to do what must be done...

... since the Constitution is a null concept at this point,...

True, and so sad.

At this point, "conservatives" are at the front of conserving every inroad the Left has ever made.  Think about it.

And THAT'S the part that drives me crazy. The progs have twisted and distorted the English language so much that nothing has meaning any more. They've driven the country so far left under the pretense of "feeling" that normal is now considered perverted. I (along with a lot of flyover America and everyone here) am tired of the pure, unadulterated bullsh!t that's got us to where we are today and the continued decline in civilization. We are CONSERVATIVE. We believe in small government. We believe in personal responsibility. We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. We believe there is evil in this world, and negotiating with evil will NOT make it magically disappear. We believe in helping those who need a hand up, not a hand out.... ::gaah::

Damn, I feel better already.

Thanks, Pan. I guess I really just needed to vent. I owe you. ::curtsy4::
