"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Although I remember him (how could you miss when he was plastered everywhere?), I can't say I was ever a fan.

Although I also can't remember him every saying anything political. I guess that's a good thing. RIP, David.

Yeah, I don't recall anything ridiculous over being attributed to him which is a good sign.  And what is it with dementia lately?

I went through a Partridge Family phase. I was at an age where Laurie Partridge played by Susan Dey was the stuff of fantasies, IYKWIMAITYD. No, not TMI. I just had a crush is all. Her and Marsha Marsha Marsha. And Ginger. And Maryanne.
