Heavy users to have to pay for being bandwidth hogs, the way it should be in a free market.

Little snowflakes want to watch their Alt-Left garbage on NetFlix...pay for it!  Shave, shower, get a haircut and proper clothing and get a fricken real job you lazy little sh*ts!

Now, I don't doubt that the leftist outfits that supported this BS before won't exploit it financially in hopes of further arousing the angst of butthurt snowflakes...but whatever...

Had to listen to Klobuchar's schoolmarm scolding voice on the news yesterday telling us (paraphrased) "Since the beginning of the Internet, NetNeutrality® has given us innovation, access to information, yadda-yadda-yadda...."

Do these idiots really expect us to believe that the Hussein regime's grab of control on his way out the door in 2016 was the way it always was, and now we're gonna ruin innovation?

The Internet went from 28k dial-up to what it is today with no NetNeutrality®. It'll be just fine, morons.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Exactly, it's like anything before Hussein gamed the system never happened...

ETA - The fact that the ACLU is acting up like a typical jackass is more proof to me this was a wise decision!

Amen! Good move. This was NEVER about service providers or prohibiting snowflakes their Gaming, InstaGram, FarceBook, etc...

...it was & is all about content control. They can't control talk-radio...so they're attempting a "content neutral" online environment...which would make forums like this one...targets.

Since the Early 90's the FCC considered the internet not covered  under the 1934 communications act.
All "Net Neutrality"  means is "massive power grab" - on par with the EPA claiming that irrigation ditches are navigable waters, or that the Fed can tell you what kind of health insurance to buy. .  They want to regulate the companies providing internet access so that eventually they can dictate what access is acceptable.  The fact that people are issuing death threats over this proves it isn't about "smart regulation" - its the only chance they have left to control the narrative. You can't stop the signal Mal.

Irony abounds in Google banning a Daily Caller video mocking net neutrality proponents.

The problem is that the FCC gave itself power it did not have before.

Q. What would the FCC do with all that new power?
A. Nobody knows.

Excellent video clip at link. Total smackdown.

MSNBC’s Ali Velshi sought to continue the fight in his own way. He invited Hudson Institute Senior Fellow and former FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell (profile here) to discuss the FCC’s repeal of the Open Internet Order. Velshi fancies himself an expert on the merits of the regulation. He has a hard time holding his own with McDowell. You might even say, as Amber Athey does at the Daily Caller, that Velshi “got absolutely destroyed” by McDowell.

Should be tilted down on the left too...that was their whole aim...to make it easier for them to game net content, distribution and access.

Jimmy Kimmel will be eaten by a pack of stray dogs?

I can live with that.

Processed foods will go unprocessed?

Heh!

Mobius toilet paper will finally run out?

 ::laughonfloor::

Arachibutyrophobia will disarm General Foods?

 ::hysterical::

Congress will experience amnesia and déjà vu at the same time?

That's new?!

One of the biggest reasons why the internet became so big was the fact that it was UN-regulated for so long.

People could do anything.  And they largely did.   Notice a lot less has changed in the last couple of years,  its becoming more static,  and it not due to becoming a mature tech.  NN may have done it's damage already as most of the internet is now concentrated among a very small set of sites (facebook, youtube, google, etc).   If you can't be on those sites its hard to be seen.   Those sites are turning into the internets CBS, NBC, ABC,  gatekeepers.

In a lot of ways I miss the more freewheeling internet of the late 1990's.   Dial up sucked,  but there was far more non-liberal viewpoints on the net then.   Most of those sites have been forced off,  or have been marginalized,  the operators struggling to even stay on.

NN would have only turned it into another lousy regulated utility.   With the "customer" service of the electric,  gas and phone companies (aka terrible).   Also it would become more and more static as changing things would be largely prohibited by having to get permission.

Unfortunately far too much of the internet has liberal gatekeepers.   All the major tech companies are run by lefties.   It's amazing they didn't ruin it at the beginning.

I see a lot of parallels with the radio business.   Radio at the beginning was as open as the internet was.

Yeah, I agree...it was more free in the early days...and dial-up did suck on an epic scale.  And it is trending a lot like radio, which lib's suck at (in capitalist performance terms, not just content!)!

Remember waiting for an available socket to open up?  Dialing over and over.  For $20 per month?  Good times.
