Welcome.
Tell us what its like in Uruguay.
Well, from March 1 to March 22 it was mostly in the high 70's, low 80's (25C) with most of the tourists gone home, but everything still open in anticipation for Easter break, after which 70% of restaurants and many businesses will shut down.
The people are upbeat and optimistic, as our country is growing and getting better. Our views of Americans is that we love them.....our views of America the nation is that it is run by psychopaths and liars. Trump is hated, but so was Obama....Hillary is hated more than both combined.
We feel sorry for Americans, but do not wish the bloodthirsty government well. Putin is greatly admired for the way he has worked to improve the lives of Russians. He is the most loved foreign leader...not just in Uruguay, but in all the world. At the same time, you need to realize that the School of the America's is still very fresh in the minds of many Uruguayans----not to mention the other nations who adopted the methods learned at Ft. Benning----so pretty much everyone blames most things on the CIA and America.....for good reason.
The best thing about Uruguay? You can actually own your property, not like in the USA where the best you can do is a one year lease.
The worst thing about Uruguay? Automobiles and gasoline are very expensive.
The food is incredible. The people are warm and friendly. The beaches are gorgeous.....and Americans are welcome.
Why not come down and breathe some freedom for a change? You'll remember the feeling....like childhood.
The difference between living in a country where things are getting better and are expected to continue getting better vs. living in America is something that must be experienced.
