Seems to fit...and meets the criteria for Occam's Razor.

Haven't seen anything better.  And the lack of wreckage can be explained if after rendering everybody else unconscious he plowed into the ocean head first at full power...and such velocity it would be no different than hitting solid concrete...and the ocean is a lot better eliminator of debris than earth...and by looking in all the wrong areas gave more time for debris to scatter, disperse and sink.
