Space Force

There has been a so-called space race ever since space began to be explored, military fears never ceased they just became more of a reality...we didn't even get serious about it until SDI under Reagan...then withering on the vine under Bush 41 and Clinton...slightly revitalized under Bush 43 and largely ignored by Obama...while China and Russia forged forward.

Not sure we'll see anything like the Thunderbirds anytime soon...but stuff like this has always been a matter of when not if.  Resource-driven as much as national security driven...but then again if the DeepState wins out it may be all moot and the budget battles may abort much of it anyway...and if pooh hits the fan nobody will care one way or another...

Well, the Rus aren't backing off dominating space...

...and I am sure it is all peaceful and benign...

...I mean why wouldn't it be?

Can we target illegals, ebola, and demo-terrorists from space?

I can hardly express how much I love this.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

X-37 does a lot of stuff and can be easily reconfigured (large cargo bay, similar to the Shuttle).  Very capable vehicle.
