This article on Omar provides a concise timeline of her marriages and where her husband/brother was when she said she had no idea where he was. It provides the sources for the various addresses. It has info I did not know about.

It is hard to divorce someone when they are not  represented in the court as it should be. They may not be aware of the divorce so the court at least wants their mailing address to inform them of the pending divorce. Omar swore she had no idea where Elmi was, even though he was living near her. Not in the article but I recall there was a facebook photo showing them together during the period she swore she had not seen him.

The congresswoman’s husband, Ahmed Hirsi, the source said, is poised to file for divorce after the revelation in a bombshell court filing that she allegedly had an affair with DC political consultant Tim Mynett.

The Minnesota congresswoman and her husband allegedly separated in March, and Omar asked Hirsi to divorce her around that time because she didn’t want to file the papers — but Hirsi refused, telling her if she wanted a divorce she should do it herself, said the source, who has known both parties for 20 years.

The husband allegedly changed his mind after Tim Mynett’s wife last week filed bombshell divorce papers claiming her spouse was having an affair with the Somali-born US representative — with Hirsi said to be angry he had been made to look the fool by the allegations of an extramarital affair.

Documents suggest Omar never stopped living with Hirsi — even after they ended their religious marriage and she was legally married to Elmi. In February 2009, when Omar legally married Elmi, she listed their marital address as a property in Columbia Heights, a suburb in Minneapolis.

There was no “break” for Omar and Hirsi.

All three, in fact — Omar, Hirsi, and Elmi — are recorded to have been living together in North Dakota at the same address in 2009. All three are then recorded as living together at a second North Dakota address in 2010-2011.

Then, Rep. Omar herself — perhaps in a moment of carelessness — admitted to a reporter in 2013 that Hirsi and their two children were living with her as she attended NDSU.

As for Ahmed Elmi, David Steinberg hunted through public records and what he found was shocking. He found an Ahmed N. Elmi in St. Paul, Minnesota through the St. Paul Public Schools archives, with the exact same birthdate as what was listed on the 2017 divorce papers.


St. Paul Public Schools stated to me that federal law (FERPA) and Minnesota law forbid it from releasing the names of Ahmed N. Elmi’s parents/legal guardians, address, or phone number from his enrollment record without Elmi’s signed permission — or a warrant.

I then contacted several members of the Class of 2003 — and I was told that Eli “was living with his father” while attending Arlington Senior High School. I have also obtained the likely address.

Further, Elmi’s father was identified as the same man Ilhan Omar has always publicly referred to as her own father: Nur Said Elmi Mohamed. (Read about Somali naming tradition here.)

Then there’s this photo from Ahmed Elmi’s Instagram account of him holding a newborn baby on June 12, 2012, the day after his legal wife, Ilhan, had given birth to her third child, Ilwad.

In the photograph, Elmi identifies the infant as his ‘niece’.

The article above is well worth reading. She got her husband fired to increase financial pressure on him.
IMO some press hound family law atty is going to take his case for next to nothing. He should get temporary custody and child support immediately.

Preya Samsundar first reported on Hashi in the 2016 Alpha News article “A community forced into silence.” David previously noted Hashi’s work for Omar earlier this year in a tweet I posted here. I would like to add a footnote to David’s footnote.

I am advised that Hashi entered the United States with Omar as Guhaad Omar and reclaimed his name when he became a citizen. According to my source, Omar was his fake sister; he was her fake brother. They may have a familial relationship of a more distant kind.

Incidentally, that would still leave five Omar siblings unaccounted for among the seven whom the Star Tribune attributes to Omar’s family. (In a classic case of the blind leading the blind, the New York Times follows the Star Tribune on this point — while fact-checking Trump!)

Can either the Star Tribune or the Times name one Omar sibling other than Ilhan with the name Omar? As of this date, neither the Star Tribune nor the Times has ever done so.

Yet we know that Sahra Noor is Omar’s sister. We know that Leila Elmi is Omar’s sister. What is going on here? (Hint: We think Ahmed Nur Said Elmi is Omar’s brother and Nur Said Elmi is her father.)

On October 22, 2008, the U.S. State Department stopped accepting applications for the Priority 3/Refugee Family Reunification program — the process by which refugees can apply for asylum if one family member is already a legal U.S. resident. Despite continuing war, Somalia of 2008 was not comparable to the open hell of the early 1990s, when an eight-year-old Ilhan and her family fled to Kenya’s Dadaab refugee camps. Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services then helped Ilhan, her sister Sahra, and their father Nur Said receive asylum in the United States along with thousands of other Somalis.

That is not her family. The Omar family is a second, unrelated family which was being granted asylum by the United States. The Omars allowed Ilhan, her genetic sister Sahra, and her genetic father Nur Said to use false names to apply for asylum as members of the Omar family.

Ilhan’s genetic family split up at this time. The above three received asylum in the United States, while Ilhan’s three other siblings — using their real names — managed to get asylum in the United Kingdom.

Ilhan Abdullahi Omar’s name, before applying for asylum, was Ilhan Nur Said Elmi.

Her father’s name before applying for asylum was Nur Said Elmi Mohamed. Her sister Sahra Noor’s name before applying for asylum was Sahra Nur Said Elmi. Her three siblings who were granted asylum by the United Kingdom are Leila Nur Said Elmi, Mohamed Nur Said Elmi, and Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.
