I think I've found my browser.

I've been using TOR (The Onion Router) for the past week or so.

Tor prevents people from learning your location or browsing habits.
Tor is for web browsers, instant messaging clients, and more.
Tor is free and open source for Windows, Mac, Linux/Unix, and Android

What is Tor?

Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against traffic analysis, a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security.

Why Anonymity Matters

Tor protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody watching your Internet connection from learning what sites you visit, and it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location.

There's LOTS more info at the site. After the first week, it seems to run a tad slower than Firefox, but all of my web pages work.
Maybe someone who's a little geekier can tell me if it's all a ruse.

I have it on my android phone, uses VPNs supposedly safe and secure but in today's Big Brother and Dark Web world who is to say?  There is scuttlebutt that TOR is basically a Deep State spinoff and a ruse to track those with something to hide.  I don't know about that...suffice it to say if nefarious types want to hack you they probably will...so like anything security related it comes down to thwarting the less skilled criminal and using your own situational awareness to keep you safe...so I think you'll be fine.
