One of the persons who Weiner follows is a porn star. There is so much to being a congressman that I just don't understand.

It seems to me given the claims and counter claims involved, the only way to solve #weinergate is for law enforcement to get involved.

The esteemed John Hinderaker voices an opinion.

I am not an expert on hacking, or even on Twitter, as those who follow my Twitter stream can attest. So I offer no opinion on what happened, but only two observations.

First, the episode must be investigated by law enforcement. Hacking into politicians' accounts of various sorts is a criminal offense that could have serious consequences.

I would think that if any nationally elected official's privacy was compromised, there would be an automatic investigative protocol. In every situation I can think of, it poses a potential national security risk of some degree or another. I'd think that such an investigation would happen regardless of whether the "victim" sought law enforcement intervention. Am I naive to assume that since the claim was made, the FBI is probably investigating a security breach right now?

The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

New York Daily News has a poll: Perp or Victim?  Right now it's 44% victim 43% perp. Every vote counts.
[/blockquote]

Readers must think there is something to this Weiner thing, the vote is 45/43.  Vicitmhood is slowly creeping up.

Poll is up to 45% victim 43% perp, the ballot box is still open.

The young lady Weiner "allegedly" send his boner photo to has obviously had some help with her statement.
Quote
...
There have never been any inappropriate exchanges between Anthony Weiner and myself, including thehttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif tweet/picture in question, which had apparently been deleted before it reached me.

How can a photo which was sent be deleted before it reaches the intended recipient? This makes no sense.

Weiner's people really need to work on their story, since none of what they're currently claiming is believable.

and
...
So if she never received the photo, as claimed, why would she delete her accounts?

I don't know anything about Twitter. I don't have a Twitter account or any intention of getting one.

So...this blog entry about the significance of Weiner following less than 200 people on Twitter and that one of them is the bimbo who was the target of his dic pic tweet was illustrative.

If you wanted to bait me into reading the link to get to the answer to the question, you were successful, my friend.

For the rest of you hard heads, I have read the article Trap linked. My interpretation is that Weiner enjoys the flattery of having young girls and porn stars follow him on twitter. I would speculate that they are a necessary "fantasy" for an aging man who apparently enjoys loving himself more than he does his wife.

An interesting note: I wondered how some boneheaded Congress-man could make such a mistake as to send a public message/penis-pic to the Seattle Slew. It's easy. According to the article Trap linked, on Twitter you can private message those who follow you if you also follow them. You can public message anyone else you follow. The difference is the use of "@" and the use of "d".

I hope I got this right as it is important. Let's say I follow Ann Coulter's tweets. I can't send her a private message unless she follows me. But I can tweet anything on my Tweeter Account to be read publicly by anyone who follows me.

Really

As he still hasn't called the cops, apparently.

Hawk, the DC article says Weanie has "retained counsel." If he had retained "defense counsel" there would be even more to read into the statement.

Yeah, he is blaming everything on Republicans because the GOP Reps don't have a 2011 budget or a plan to save Medicare.

Oh. Wait a minute!

It's actually worse.

According to those who were first to notice this story, a couple of days ago he was following just less than 100 people. That means in the last 24 to 72 hours he has added 100 people to the list that he is following. So you can add that to the list of "draw your own conclusion" stuff that includes not calling the FBI and retaining counsel.

Mediaite has an embedded video of weinerboy being interviewed by CNN.

Weiner is smiling and laughing now but one wonders, how long will that go on? My guess is that he won't be laughing about this a few days from now.

I can draw a conclusion. He got wind the story was going to break, so he quickly "followed" a bunch of young chicks with his Twitter account so this one girl wouldn't stand out in the crowd. "See Huma? Nothing unusual here! There's lots-n-lotsa young attractive girls on Twitter, and anybody can follow anybody, so how can I be responsible for a hacker sending a dick-pic to one anonymous girl among all the other anonymous girls I follow? Please don't call Hillary?"
