I don't understand why he can't be brought up on charges as a sexual predator.

Because he didn't break any laws. Being a creepy guy who likes to talk to underage females is not a crime.

Weiner knew exactly what he was doing and, although it resulted in him being made a national laughingstock, he made sure that he never stepped over the line between merely creepy behavior and actual criminal conduct.

I think that if he had been allowed to continue on with his behavior, with no negative consequences, he eventually would have become a criminal...these things tend to escalate. So in a way, this situation has probably saved him (and unkown others) from a lot of very real pain. This time it just resulted in a kind of broadcast humiliation and overall ickie-ness that has splattered onto everyone even vaguely associated with him. That's why the Democrats want him out: They don't want him associated with them at all because of the "ickie" factor.

There is a weird sort of Democrat Twilight Zoneish sort of morality at play here. If Weiner had had an actual extra marital affair with actual sex then this would probably be no big deal at all. For some reason, though, the Democrats regard his bizarre behavior in this matter to be too bizarre even by their own incredibly low standards. Weiner has put himself in a position where Bill Clinton can look down on him.

Alec Baldwin defends his friend Weiner:

He exists under a constant pressure cooker of self-analysis and public appraisal. Like other politicians, he needs something to take the edge off. For some people, regardless of occupation, that could mean booze, drugs, gambling, food or shopping. For high functioning men like Weiner and other officials who have lived through such scandals, who are constantly on the go, that leaves one tried and true source of a reliable high. The affirmation that comes when someone lets you know they want to sleep with you. Or even cyber-sleep with you.

high functioning?  The standard must be pretty low--oh, wait this is Congress.

These libs certainly think highly of themselves.

Think he would have been so understanding if it had been a conservative?

NYPost article detailing why Weiner can't afford to leave his job.

Quote
Weiner, 46, took home $156,117 in 2010, according to his federal tax returns released by his staff.

His humiliated wife, Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, earned $154,000 in 2009, federal records show.
He owes between $10,000 and $15,000 on his American Express card, according to his most recent financial-disclosure forms.

If he steps down, he could grovel to cable TV execs for talking-head "analyst" gigs that hopefully pay more than the $825 he gets for appearing on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher."

Bottom line is that he is totally screwed from a financial point of view. Remember, this guy wants to tell us how to fix the country's money problems.

Standard Democrat line, that was their excuse for Wild Willie, larger than life man has larger than life appetites.   It's less than sophomoric an excuse accepted by the more base amongst us,

But the libnut women were willing to line up around the block to service Willie if it kept him in office, such a brilliant and powerful intellect must be allowed to rule us all, it is the birthright of all powerful proglodytes to rule, nobody else, and all of their needs must be met!

I'm sure he's not the only Dem in DC living on the edge.  Maybe that's why they think so little of us.  They assume we're doing the same.

Some women believe they will be THE ONE to fix/change/satisfy the need--they don't understand it's an appetite.

Weiner could also get quite wealthy by coming out with a "Weiner Signature Line" of sex products.

He could promote a line of Weiner authorized web cams.

He could write a book and say almost anything because, after all, he's a serial liar.

He could start an online dating service.

He could start up a security company that specializes in online privacy.

The guy just needs to think outside the box.

He could start an online dating service.

It could be like eHarmony. Except he could call it eWeiner. He could do the television ads himself just like the eHarmony guy does..."Hi, I'm Anthony Weiner, founder of eWeiner."

Then the announcer guy does the voice over while they show pics of guys working the keyboard and mouse:

"Dr. Weiner (he's not really a doctor, doctor) is a former member of congress and has many years of experience with Facebook, Twitter, sexting and sending out unsolicited pictures of his genitalia. During all these countless hours of sweaty work at the computer terminal speaking with perhaps thousands of underage girls, Dr. Weiner observed a set of characteristics that seemed to be present in all gullible young women. He called them the 29 Dimensions of Vulnerability. After extensive research involving thousands of online communications, Dr. Weiner confirmed that these dimensions were indeed highly predictive of exploitational success and could be used to enhance the ego of sexually frustrated men. Ten years later, eWeiner's under-age female vulnerability matching is responsible for nearly 5% of all U.S. therapy sessions and inpatient mental treatment. We at eWeiner look forward to assisting you with your own adventures in online stalking and exploitation."

There's money to be made here.

a snippet from a
One Man Take Down of MSM and a HT

In Which My First Prediction Finally Comes True

Just watched Lawrence O'Donnell inform me that NBC was now confirming cops were visiting the 17 year old.
...
Now, I didn't do their jobs for them on this; Patterico did. But honestly, I did mean "we" originally.
...
With 50,000 of you on full-time staff, all alerted to this story, you could not, or would not, do the job one man -- a hobbyist -- with a f**king brain and a keyboard could do.

One man with -- remember this? -- the desire to pursue a story and go where it took it.

Remember that?

You may have heard someone say that in a movie once.

Here's a nice little tidbit of trivia:

Weiner was one of 75 co-sponsors of the “Keeping the Internet Devoid of Sexual Predators Act of 2007.” The bill passed the House but never came up for a vote in the Senate.

We already knew the hypocrisy of Democraps is staggering, but Weiner really puts that hypocrisy over the top.

Couldn't play golf or any other activity to "take the pressure off"......

Newsflash: whether you are a politican, teacher or CEO, there is pressure. My response would be mr weiner is in the wrong profession if he feels the pressure is so great he needs to send pics of his *ick to women. I have no respect for anyone who can defend his actions and I had this conversation with a defender.

Somebody needs to do a little background check on Alec..... Birds of a feather....

I'm not always engulfed in scandals, but when I am, I make sure I blame others.

... Anthony Weiner took out his dirty laundry Saturday ... and was roundly cheered by onlookers as he walked to his local dry cleaners.

The embattled lawmaker reiterated that he will not step down, even in light of revelations that he exchanged tweets with a 17-year-old girl.

“I have no intention at this time,” Weiner said outside his Queens home before walking to the laundromat. “This is ultimately a decision for my constituents.”
