The Captain, from “Captain and Tenille”... I’m only a little embarrassed to say that I loved them for a few years when I was a young teenager. I even liked “Muskrat Love.”

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Soft, mellow...whatever that is called...it did not generate the visceral violent reaction in me like that canned d***o crap would trigger...I would never seek it out but I wouldn't strangle anybody playing it...I might just wander off somewhere else.  The most annoying thing would be when one of those silly ditties somehow got caught in my head and I would feel ashamed.
We are now where The Founders were when they faced despotism.
