We have a local media empire here in the Raleigh, NC area owned by local Limousine Liberal Jim Goodman. This is the same television station that gave conservative superstar Jesse Helms a five minute editorial commentary segment at the close of every broadcast. Once young Jim took over, the station as abandoned any pretext of impartiality and has been the propaganda arm of the North Carolina Democratic Party.

The station hired a new “personality”, Jeff Hogan, to anchor the off prime news broadcast. Nice looking guy who endeared himself to his viewers while bravely recovering from a body surfing accident on the Outer Banks. I first noticed his creeping editorial comments in a neutral news story when he was reviewing the Jim Acosta story when he refused to relinquish the microphone to the White House intern. Hogan said “a Administration spokesman accused Acosta of putting his hands on the intern ‘when the video clearly showed’ he didn’t.” I took the time to send Hogan a screenshot and short PBS video calling him on his comment. No response to my email.

The final straw was his comment that Bill Barr, in his testimony before congress on his confirmation as AG said he would allow Mueller to “complete his investigation” although that “contradicted his 19 page memo” to Rod Rosenstein. Clearly, Hogan is caring the water for the Progressive view as the memo was regarding the specific issue of Obstruction of Justice and not the general Russian Meddling Investigation. I sent another email calling out his comment as ignorant of the facts. I’m still holding my breath on that.

Retirement is great as I have the time to tilt at the windmills of political bias by the media. Wish me luck!

So far the seem to be doing the same thing liberals/progressives/statists have always done - ignore you.  Only until others are made aware that they are ignoring you will they on some occasions engage...though that engagement means more lies and more ignoring.

Good luck...if you get one on its back...go for the neck.   ::thumbsup::

Honestly, Jeff Hogan. Does Jim Goodmon write your news anchor copy? You spent time every segment this morning broadcasting the “bombshell” report from a discredited Buzzfeed writer who couldn’t get his story straight with his co-writer. So Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress. Admittedly, if true, an impeachable offense. But Buzzfeed? Jason Leopold? Unnamed sources? Haha. Remember Leopold’s 100% true story that Gingrich was going to be indicted? How did that turn out. Oh yes, go back to his Enron story and autobiography. Book pulled and Leopold fired ... for lying. He’s a unrepentant fabulist but your network chose to breathlessly run with the story regardless. Keep it up Mr. Hogan. I may continue to watch your morning news program, if only for the humor. (No, I’m laughing at you.

That was Leopold?

 ::)

Figures.

And, it is my understanding that the buzzedfeed report may (no confirmation yet and likely never forthcoming) have been very loosely based on internal campaign talking points about prospective and speculative garbage rumored to be lobbed against the campaign...which is indicative only of political messaging, not policy let alone action...and how that would get into the hands of a FakeNews outlet is another question...(cough, Mueller, cough)...

It's all part of the larger gin-up of the leftist base for an impeachment that will go nowhere...but that may spawn more hate and breed more nefarious actions...like a real coup or an assassination plot.

The lastest crap from Jim Goodman’s stooges at local Fox50: “The IRS has said that tax refunds are 8% lower” under the GOP tax plan. This is only half the story but they can’t seem to miss an opportunity to bash anything GOP.

The “news anchor” over there said nothing about the reduction in rates of income tax withholding for the last year. Most informed taxpayers would agree that the net effect of the tax law changes result in a smaller overall tax bill. You just got it during the year as in increase in your check.

I don’t understand the ignorance of wanting a large tax refund. It’s your money, you have only given the treasury in interest free loan during the year.

I suspect many people are so economically ignorant that they don't realize that, and, financially improvident that this is their only way of 'saving' money.

That deluded state of thinking has been around a long time.  I've heard people basically admit they are too stupid to manage their financial affairs intelligently if they had that additional income in-hand and say they are OK giving the government an interest-free loan that they can just turn around and blow anyway once it comes in.  Sure, their stupidity may eventually maintain a status quo should bank savings rates go hard NIRP but then your currency value is probably in flames at that point too.  So, still stupid as hell!

Socialists trying to pin a negative spin on this on Trump should be trolled hard...tell them it's nice to see them become ardent Trump fans since by their shat-brain logic less receipts must mean more money for the government to spend on deadheads!

It sounds like that journalist is so stupid, he wants to pay higher net taxes so he can get a bigger refund.

That's probably not just a local news thing, most journalists are probably this stupid.

Those types can be identified early...they always object when basic common sense is required in any thought or discussion...

VICTORY! As you all know, I’ve been poking the local media in Raleigh, NC for their one-sided reporting. I found that it’s easier to call them out by posting to their Facebook page. This morning, they had another segment regarding the tax refunds being lower. At the very end, they snuck in the fact that withholding laws were changed. Then again, they didn’t explain the connection to withholding and refunds. One small victory.

This morning, they did a story on a Durham, NC Catholic Church School that cancelled a Black History Month talk with middle schoolers from a black lesbian Durham City councilwoman (who is married to another woman). Fox50’s take? The talk was cancelled “due to the lesbian’s views on same sex marriage.” No, Fox50. There was a demonstration planned by parents to protest this “talk”. The school just thought it inappropriate to expose the kids to this circus, so they cancelled it.

Of course, I called them on their one sided explanation on their FB page love social media!

You'll be advancing up their target list, when you've become a true PITA to them they'll give a nod to Farcebook pals to suspend your account...you know you've hit the Big Time then, and any friend of Liberty may be an enemy to them but to us you're Aces!

Keep up the good work!   ::thumbsup::
