U.S. District Judge Gray Miller rules all-male draft unconstitutional

A couple things to note here, first the suit was brought by the National Coalition for Men, a mens rights group initially established to fight the overly female bias in divorce cases that has expanded to take on issues of domestic abuse and such.

Like things in the Libertarian movement there are things that may not appeal to all given your point on a political-philosophical-religious spectrum.  In terms of latter day practicality this ruling may not matter, it is interesting however to note that the judge is a W appointee.  I was against putting women in combat roles, more from a ground force/deployment perspective for land and sea...mixing the sexes just adds more distractions to a profession where any distraction and divided loyalty can get you and others around you dead in an instant...less concerned in an air combat role where gender differences seem less material but we cannot pick these roles a la carte so it is one or the other.  Needless to say the issue of gays and the made up genders is a zero-tolerance position for me.

Given women are in combat now...whatever.  Israel makes it work but Israelis also have a keener interest in self-preservation as a people, not so sure that can be said about latter day Americans in general.  We are not surrounded...yet...with people intent upon exterminating us...we have our hands full with people in-country wanting that!
