Keep in mind Denver MOVED to this airport - the old Stapleton ariport was dismantled. Know of any other city that simply gets rid of an already functional airport?
It was moved to land own by a friend of Pena's.. and the runways were constructed ...twice. The auto Baggage system - never worked, but money was poured into it. I have talked personally to a guy who claimed to ave worked on the Buried buildings.
The design is horrible.. if the train breaks - no one goes anywhere.
And all along the length of the terminal, every 15 -20 feet, on both sides, there is an giant 1.5 foot diameter Air duct on the ground floor. -- What do they need all of that Air for? The underground base they really built there
Its way more than anyone would need for a "baggage sorting area in the basement..." and of course those are just the ducts I know about because I walked past them each and every trip..
Te whole thing is satanic - from forcing everyone to drive way the hell out onto the eastern plains in the snow, to the baggage to the stupid unheatable tent that rips, to the trains and security. The Art is the least of its problems.. and its creepy as hell.
